Let’s hope PSV do us a favour against inter. Or perhaps we can get a draw away at Barca. We’ve really made this hard for ourselves, haven’t we?

 

If inter get a result against a Barca team who look set to be without Messi in both games, we’re ****ed.

With all the upheaval over the stadium, the premier league looking extremely tight, and the lack of depth in our squad, I’ll be hoping we finish bottom and don’t go into the Europa. I know it’s defeatist, but there’s a lot we’ve had to deal with in the first 9 games of this season. The busy winter period terrifies me right now.

- beat PSV twice, and Inter in the manner mentioned
- assume Barca will not drop points to Inter

 

I fully expect Barca to do the job in hand, but no doubt we’ll go all spursy.

 

You need to maintain the UEFA ranking pts to avoid CL
"groups of death" . Doing that in the KO stages of the EL
means you are playing PL catch-up on sundays in the
business end of the season while some of your rivals are still in the CL

2-2 in this afternoon's UYL game with PSV. We equalised with the last kick of the game having been 2-0 down and missed a second half penalty. That's 3 consecutive draws for the youngsters. Like the first team, some wins needed to progress.

 

2 of those draws have come away from home. Draw away; win at home is a successful strategy.

Aside from Lamela, that starting XI will need to have the result
well out of PSV reach before the < standard > Pochettino subs
from 65 mins onwards.

 

The same defence, keeper and holding midfielder, again. Unusual for Pochettino not to rotate the fullbacks, at least.
I'm hoping that Moura and Son will be used either side of Eriksen in a three behind Kane, but I'm not convinced that's the case.

 

Vorm on the bench over Gazza... likely won’t make an actual difference but that’s a proper kick in the teeth for Gazza. Didn’t even deserve to be dropped from the XI, let alone the squad.
