Agree with his comment feet on the ground, improving week by week & see how we fair against villa & hopefully end a great week with a win.
Just back. First half was really quite dour and the goal came slightly against the run of play although Hemed had fluffed a great chance earlier. Second half I thought we were excellent from the first whistle and never gave them a chance to get the equaliser. Wednesday were surprisingly pedestrian and too reliant on Bannan. Really don’t think one player played poorly for us. Special praise for McLaren as he brought Wells on at the right time. Now he’s got a goal, and a good goal, I hope he gets a chance on Friday. Also our game management throughout which was a problem under Holloway was very good and without the need for excessive timewasting. Well done all.
Thought Leistner was excellent tonight, great team performance against a good team. Probably the most enjoyable game I’ve been to in a long time.
https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/277226-queens-park-rangers-v-wednesday-omdt/ If you wanna take a peek from the owls forum. You see theres a somekind of meltdown going on, and they dont appreciate much of us either. What a sad bunch of losers...
By the way anyone see Kiwi after we left him in the pub at 7.25??? Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
I haven't got a clue, he just disappeared. I thought he went to the loo and I sat there waiting for him for 10 minutes before deciding to get to the game.
Did anyone else notice that their goalies kit was almost identical to the outfield players? I'm surprised that this kind of attire is allowed, shocking. What a great night. Met up with Beth, Terry B and son and Kiwi. First half we started well but lacked the final ball after some good build up play. The defence looked solid especially the centre backs. Lynch is looking like a new signing. The second half was a joy to watch with Eze so easy on the eye. Freeman was also showing some excellent touches and skill and his headed goal was really good after some great build up play. We actually look like we have something about us and developing into a potentially good team. Individually we have some very good players and now they have some confidence it will be interesting to see where it can take us. I don't think I was one of those calling for McClaren's head, but I'm glad he's realised that the two up top wasn't working and has remedied the matter. I didn't like to see us holding the ball up by the corner flag for the last five minutes. Three nil up at home with your tails up and we're doing this instead of going for a fourth goal which we were fully capable of. I don't know whether the players take it upon themselves or the instruction comes from the bench. Maybe it was to preserve our clean sheet to maintain confidence rather than letting a late goal in which would've taken the gloss off of the evening. Another after thought is that maybe it was the team putting into practise in seeing a game out and treating it like we had a one goal lead for future occasions. We have won more games ( 6 ) than any other team in this league in the last 10 championship games. I think we've kept as many clean sheets already as we did last season. Scary times.
I enjoyed the opening post, very original and amusing. I haven't read the rest yet Igor as it's quite late and the mattress beckons. ( Mrs Nines hates it when I call her that. )
I think it's important to keep everything in perspective and us fans need to keep our feet firmly on terra firma. But I've just noticed ... WE'RE ONLY 6 POINTS OFF OF TOP SPOT!!!
Yeh the Commentator on the Official Nick I think, was complaining about both their Keepers similar coloured kit and our time wasting at the end. Their Keeper had a slash of yellow on his shirt that separated him front view. I was so happy at the end, and we had already made the 2 defensive subs so I was happy to see us see the game out with none against.
I thought that first half (I was in R block) but second half it looked like a purple goalkeeper and dark brown for the rest. For those of us with crap eyes, all away teams should wear some form of neon. Our pink ensemble is perfect. Really enjoyed my view from R. Will try and sit there again.
Mrs RTID, not exactly a footie expert, noticed the goalie's kit, as did I and also the guys in front of me. Quite surprised the ref allowed that. I, too, was frustrated by the time wasting at the end. It would have been better to allow Wells to continue terrorising the Wednesday goal! Minor issue though on an otherwise superb performance. After the first half hour I was concerned by all their possession, crisp passing and the number of times Bannon was allowed to boss the midfield. I thought a goal for them was inevitable. However, as we came into the game, our confidence grew, as did shots on target and they did not change their plan very much that I could see. I would have loved to see Wells with a brace and further reverse the goal difference. Well done Steve and The Lads. An entertaining game and a memorable 60th for me. Wednesday won the singing competition until we scored!
I’m all for it. It’s sensible game management and we weren’t doing it the way ****ing Preston always do with actual timewasting. This was just sensibly keeping the ball. No need to give them a sniff if we don’t have to.
Well, I know l'm late checking in but with a busy work schedule, I completely forgot to check in this morning .......... ( unforgivable l know ) Anyway, how good is it to come home after a long day at work, pull out a coldie and check the footy scores and see we smashed em' 3 blot. Love it. Good to hear so many happy comments from you all. Gotta love the R'rsssssssssssssss!
That was a deja vu moment reading that. Looks like we're on the up again. Just enjoy the moment and hope it lasts.
