I have to say... irrespective of arsenals good run you only need look at the individuals at the back and realise we can cause them terrible problems look at who they played. Leicester fulham Cardiff Newcastle everton Watford west ham Chelsea city now.... ok they've done well but they lost the first two... and frankly... they should be winning every one of those games the same as the rest of the top 6. I said after they lost the 2 that they were a much better side than people were saying but right now people are swinging too far towards how great they are. emry has done ok but trust me... he doesn't have the players to play they game he would like at the back. there's a gulf between top 6 and the rest right now.
or our attack against their defence. but more likely..... is our midfield able to dominate theirs. it'll be a good test of their new lad
Graeme Souness opens up on Liverpool regrets in Monday Night Football appearance Former Liverpool manager's emotional account about his regrets as manager at Anfield https://www.skysports.com/football/...l-regrets-in-monday-night-football-appearance
Always found the Souness situation a strange one. He ****ed us over that set us up for not only our mediocre future up to this point but also opened the door for Fergie to claim that perch. But I also think he clearly lives the club and tried his best but his young age for a manager saw him naively try to do things too quickly.
I don't agree. at the time i hated him. 1993 and all those awful players bought but.... but... if you really look kenny made the errors just like Ferguson did. he let the players age. he didn't deal with the rot and honestly nobody should underestimate the damage done to the players in 1989. steve nicol opened up on this in the past couple years. souness took over what imo was already a basket case and he made it worse. let's be clear he was unlucky with Barnes injuries but Beardsley was all his own doing.
As i recall, which is never a good start to any of my sentences, but I thought that it was a culmination of a number of things. Back pass rule Injection of money into the game, wigan suffered a fairly similar thing in rugby league, successful in the wrong era, only recently have they got back to winning ways And the rule that i felt did for us which wtas the foreigners rule, worse still classing scottish etc as foreign. Souness turned us into one of the best english sides in the country playing/buying the likes of walters and hooper? Ferguson kept his foreigners and did not play them The rule was fairly quickly abolished and we never recovered.
the back pass rule is imo a small factor propagated by mancs to laugh at us. for me souness commented about professionalism yesterday and telling guys to lay off the 6 pack on the way home.from matches. I recall looking at utds side and looking at us with Julian dicks and the like waddling around after them. I would agree the foreigner rule came.in and souness got rid of Staunton and kept big road and then swapped burrow for dicks. souness in the end gave redknapp.and mcmanaman starts. he bought Rob Jones but equally he bought Paul Stewart and dicks and the like. the issue for me is dalglish started the rot with the Carter's of this world and let his friends age around him. he played with a lot of them and by 1991 they were getting past it. souness was given a rebuilding job imo... but we must also see that the cost of centenary stand put the club firmly on the cheapskate route while Utd spent more and chose to not go the same way. funnily arsenal repeated our error in 2004. I don't think souness is blameless. I think he deserves what he is responsible for but I just think Kenny gets absolved far too.mich and owners did too.
So fifa want a mini World Cup, every other year on odd years comprising of 8 teams to take place in October and November... can see that going well with clubs releasing their players in the middle of the season
Wouldn't be so bad if they said nationally national teams could only call up players from clubs not in European competition that season
Was in Manc on Sunday and saw the Juve team bus headed up Princess Parkway in the evening presumably from the airport
