Who drops off the bench though?

So you don’t disagree, apart from Dembele.

You said they have the better first team options, I don’t think they do. I just think Klopp is managing their team better.

I also disagree about Moura/ Lamela and Rose, as I’ve put.

Where I disagreed was that the Pool subs were all crap. Pool just has better options than them.

I used market forces to illustrate my point about the relative values of the two squads.

Basically, the bookies consider Liverpool to be contenders and Spurs to be rank outsiders. And, as my old nan used to say, you never see a bookie on a bike. So what do their relative prices tell you about the value of each squad, in the opinion of professionals who put their money where their mouths are?

No you agreed. I said Salah/Robertson were better.

Let’s agree to disagree, I don’t see any reason why Spurs are not in Liverpool’s position.

Perhaps it tells you as much about the relative talents of their respective managers?

Although to be fair, both have won the sum of **** all while managing in England so it might not be that.

*edit* Klopp has come waaaay closer though.

So if Leicester are 1/5 to win the league and City are 80/1 does that mean Leicester’s team is worth more?

Got to a league cup final and a Europa league cup final didn't he?

    So, closer to winning trophies.

Top four isn't a trophy mate.

He means Klopp sniffed Fergie’s flatcap at Old Trafford mate, that’s as close as that useless prat has ever been to winning.

Yeah, the managers are definitely a factor.

If Klopp wins nothing this season, he will have run out of excuses. Pochettino could still reasonably point to a lack of investment in the summer, plus problems with the stadium, as excuses for coming away empty handed.

Pochettino has arguably overachieved so far with the resources at his disposal. I don’t think you could say that about Klopp. But yeah, they both need to win something.

Doesn’t work like that Tel, each teams given a price initially based on their squad and chances of success. I’d imagine Spuds are at a long price because they have a shallow squad and we’re too strapped to improve it in the summer.

I know how bookies work ya *****.

Archers is saying Pool are 3/1 and Spurs outsiders so Pool have the more valuable squad, I say they’re about even.

Yeah I know top 4 isnt a trophy but if anything is reflecting the strength of a squad, which is what the discussion is about...then a 38 game season is a better way of measuring it...I think.

No, it reflects their chances not their value.
