    ^^^ This.

The league was ruined when Abramovich turned up and started financially doping Chelsea. Since then all of the big clubs have benefited since from big investment and mega deals from TV and sponsorship and now the whole thing is basically ****ed when you have players like Sanchez on £500k per week.

The smaller clubs have been massively affected by the disparity in incomes, if another rich Arab came in and upped the bar again, he ain't gonna be buying Southampton or Huddersfield and these clubs are going to fall ever further behind the big 6.

Spending’s got nowt to do with it.

Your squad is worth every penny as much as Liverpool’s is, without a doubt.

Did every player come through the academy? Then spending has very much to do with it. It's just who you blow your cash on.

Maybe. But it doesn’t have the same depth. If we could put out a first choice team every week, great. But we can’t.

Neither can they, apart from cripple Sturridge and a Stoke reject they have no options on the bench.

For the purpose of this conversation it doesn’t matter. Liverpool have spent more but don’t have a more valuable end product do they?

If Liverpool had a squad value worth twice what Spurs’ is then I could see the basis for the argument.

Both managers have an equal squad at their disposal. Imo.

Pool's bench is actually as weak, if not weaker than ours to be honest, mate. Look past their first XI and who do they have? Sturridge and Shaqiri? That's about it.

I think Sturridge and Shaquiri are both excellent subs to have. I’d have either, no problem.

As for any potential takeover, I can't see much changing. Utd are already able to buy practically any player they want, unlike Chelsea and City, they built their empire and earned a **** ton of high paying sponsorships along with generating a huge fanbase for merchandising sales. I can't see a billionnaire owner making much of a difference to Utd, they may become a bit more trigger happy with spending but they could do that now if they wanted.

We've got the likes of Son/ Lamela/ Lucas in which two of those will feature on the bench when Alli and Eriksen are fit. We've got better cover in defence as well.

They have Clyne, Matip - who they were all raving about a short while ago. Fabinho, Markovic, Origi, Solanke, even Lallana if he’s ever fit.

Lucas seem to be first pick now. And usually either one of Son or Lamela will start too.
