de ridder made a twitter comment last night. saying he has been intouch with the club. and has been told he is recovering well.
Sending prayers for you Dan... I haven't seen/heard any more updates on how he is... though found a little more info on what might have happened in the Mirror: The beating left Southampton defender Dan Seaborne fighting for life. He suffered serious head injuries and was found outside the city centre bar lying in a pool of blood. Police last night appealed for witnesses after it was claimed the Championship player had been kicked out over rows with the boyfriends of girls he had been chatting up and boasting to about his £5,000-a-week salary while *Googling himself on his phone. Two bouncers aged 35 and 29 have been arrested in connection with the attack. A source close to the police inquiry said troubled flared as 24-year-old Seaborne and a friend were leaving Junk nightclub in Southampton at 2.51am. The insider added: âWhen they reached the door it seems there was some kind of scuffle which resulted in him receiving his head injuries. Two of the clubâs doormen were later arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.â Hampshire Police said: âOfficers have *established Mr Seaborne was involved in a minor verbal altercation within the night club and was asked to leave. He left the club with a friend. âA further altercation took place outside the club that resulted in Mr Seaborne sustaining his injuries. Detectives are talking to potential witnesses and viewing CCTV footage to try to establish exactly what caused these injuries.â Yesterday, punters on a local *newspaper website forum claimed former Exeter City player Seaborne had been winding up other revellers in the club over his mega-salary. One, calling himself uberman and using poor English, posted: âNo one deserves what this player got, but when yo go around to each girl (ones with boyfriends) in the club telling them your on 5k a week and googling yourself to prove your a footballer your asking for troubleâ¦â After the attack, paramedics treated the defender at the scene before he was taken to Southampton General Hospital. He is being cared for at the hospitalâs Wessex Neurological Centre with parents Kim and Kevin by his side along with other relatives. Medics described him as serious but stable. Messages of goodwill last night flooded on to Twitter page #getwellsoonseaborne. Yesterday morning a pool of blood was visible at the scene of the attack. The nightclub was sealed off while forensic officers examined the area. Police wearing blue gloves searched a side entrance to the night spot as well as combing an area at the back. Detectives have already identified a number of *potentially vital witnesses to the attack.
Daily Mirror is right up there with that other Rag the Echo for reporting nothing more than hearsay and almost certainly, made up crap by internet oddballs. Absolutely no accountability in the press these days, despite all the rubbish we've seen from phonehacking etc.
. Iv'e met dan a few times while clubing, I have never seen him act like a dick to other people. He was always happy to have a char etc, never seemed big headed. How can a paper take views or comments from random people on the echo, don't they know it's full of wind ups and idiots and that's just the reporters. Plus isn't this slander of some kind?, trying to make him out to be a t**t. With out any real evidence?
Plus yesterday on twitter simon peach said dan was concious and had been down graded to stable. That's all i know atm.
It doesn't matter whether Dan was being a t**t or not. Giving him a slap is one thing leaving him fighting for life is another dispite whatever crap the papers spout.
I don't get this at all? What is the difference if you punch someone and they stay on their feet or if you punch someone and they happen to fall hitting their head on the floor. Your comment has no logic.
I see where you are coming from and i agree with your point accidents happen. If and this is a big If he was beaten senseless then that is no accident.
There's a simple fact in life. If people keep their fists, weapons, whatever, to themselves and don't go slinging them in other people's faces, whatever the provocation, there is a massive reduction in violence. OK, we can't eliminate the total idiot who wouldn't know correct behaviour, even if he/she had the Dalai Lama as a behaviourist tutor, and defending one's own friends and property from them. But on neutral territory, in a neutral scenario, it's one thing to argue with someone else, but everyone loses as soon as the violence starts. Some people can see this absolutely clearly and some people want to talk about the differences between exchanging a few punches and a proper kicking. It's all one. One inevitably spawns the other, either immediately or in the future. If we just stay well away from the point of violence, in the beginning, it will hardly ever escalate. And if I haven't mentioned it before, get well soon, Danny.
Both the arrested men have been released by Police today. One on bail and the other without charge. Both were (are?) bouncers at the nightclub.
Your thoughts though valid are highly implausible. Violence is fascinating. Take the Film "the Departed" for example or the "God Father". Now there is definitely a need to tackle the root causes of violence and police the streets so they are safe, but if you think there is a possibility of some utopian society where no one raises their fists then I am sorry but you have got the wrong species.
The wrong species entirely. There will never be a more destructive species than us humans. Land, religion, pride, a can of special brew, we'll fight for anything. Its sad, but its reality.
Very distasteful article from the mirror who can't help but poison the reader with gossip. I don't know Dan and i'm unlikely to ever know him, but it seems Footballers are there to be shot at by the national press and people are ready to believe the classic arrogant footballer story. Fact is some people carry themselves in what appears to be an arrogant fashion regardless of their profession and our Newspapers should just print facts. I think Cortese should run fleet street from here on in. Sadly Dan is not the 1st and most certainly not the last to end a night out on the beers in A & E and whether his injuries came from a push, one punch, two punches, jumped by a gang or simply tripping on his flares then lets hope he gets back to full health and pulls on a Saints shirt again.
The worse thing is they can't even be arsed to get a proper witness quote. They get some random quote of the echo website.
had an update on Dan's condition from the OS: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2439890,00.html - condtion STABLE and not life threatening - under care at GH - showing signs of improvement
