He does seem to be particularly injury prone. I hope we haven't got a Dutch "sicknote", here!

I'd just replace him with Kranjcar, for now.
See whether it works and whether we need to change the system.

Van Der Vaart injured again. Quelle surprise! He is so injury prone and it seems we are starting to see why he didn't get much game time at Real. The guy always seems to be 25% short of fitness and now a basic lunge for a tackle puts him out for six weeks. A luxury or a liability? Hmmm.....

...or 442 with Defoe. Two options worth trying there.

We've got Wolves up next who are on good form but we owe them one. Should we just go with two up... Ade and Defoe maybe?

Get Niko in and don't change the system.

I'd say we have three choices:

1.) Play 4-4-2, with two strikers (Adebayor and Defoe/Pav)
2.) Play 4-4-2, with one striker and one player off him (Kranjcar, Falque, GDS)
3.) Play a five-man midfield, with the wingers further up the pitch plus Kranjcar/Pienaar/Falque offering support

I'd take the first option myself.

Don't like 4-4-2 myself, any half decent team will over run us in midfield and no point having 2 strikers if u can't get hold of the ball.

4-2-3-1 with two of Parker, Huddlestone and Sandro protecting the back four allowing Bale, Lennon and Modricto support the lone striker which would be Adebayor for most of the time.

Quite agree, this must be seen as an opportunity to see how best to use Ade/Defoe or Ade with someone playing behind him.Now we have a holding midfielder fit(Parker)our defence should be stronger. We can always change formation depending on score something we have been missing without Sandro.

It amazes me how anyone could be against Adebayor joining us. Just look at we're talking about...striking options! Last season, just constant slating, rightly so I should add! On this basis alone I just don't see how the window has been the unmitagating disaster some people are making out.

More threat up front, more umph in the middle and more confidence at the back. The three main signings could actually transform the team.

Let's have a look first before we throw up our hands in horror.

He needs to get a few pounds off and do another pre-season when he comes back. I get the feeling he still thinks he is good enough to do a similar amount of work to that he did to get "fit" for la liga. Maybe Parker can rattle his cage a little. Having luxury players is ok when you have a 40 man squad, not so good when you have to pick from 25.
