First off those bottom 4 clubs are god awful. Saints and palace are not much better but they can at least get some results but the look of it (if they man up and try) Second the top 4 IMO are looking ominous for the rest. Arsenal can take on the top 4 though... if they push the rest on then it keeps us all honest. Bournemouth must be so delighted with their start, another few wins before Christmas and i think they'll take the rest of the year off
Asking people what do they think.... maybe make a series out of it at each quarter mark... you know to keep the board alive and not end up like Utd (your favourite board to visit and laugh at)
It changes everything Arsenal v Spurs for top 4 Man Utd top half or bottom half Ok it changes two things
If Arse win tonight they're on equal points with Spurs and Chelsea, two behind us and City. How anyone can claim we're the only serious challengers is beyond me - it's tight up there atm. The only one of the top six doing poorly is Utd, already nine points off the pace, but even that could change significantly over the next quarter.
btw if lads want to be pedantic about this; the table should be posted from a live update table at half time in the next game As 38/2 = 19. 19/2 = 9.5
MU's problem is the same as we have faced many times in recent years. You have a mediocre start to the season and you're chasing three or four opponents rather than one. Sure, you may make up 3 points on one or two sides on any given weekend (if you're lucky) but that has to be sustained and is very difficult to do, especially with all the BS surrounding the club (MU) at the mo. GD is another issue for them and adds another point to the chase. Yes it's early, but they are so far behind already their real struggle is a top 4 spot. And right now that looks unlikely.
Interesting to compare goals for and against on same period last season to see where we stand. I think looking at us at us you can clearly see that we aren’t firing up top 16 goals in 9 games but are very much solid at the back 3 in 9 which includes a clean sheet v top scoring side so far this season. They always say say you can’t win the title with a dodgy defence so it’s encouraging to see. Won more games 1-0 this year than whole of last year so even though not as exciting it’s encouraging that team now aren’t crumbling under pressure in games when they are 1-0 up. Does make you wonder, we all say our front line isn’t clicking and true, but is this because of a more solid unit klopp wants us to be, has he had to sacrifice some of that gung ho attitude to be more solid? Or is it a case of just out of form and when we hit form we could actually his a nice balance of not conceding and scoring 3/4 goals which is what city have been doing for the last year or so? It it is crazy how tight it is up there though. 2 points potentially separating top 5. Looks like going to be a far more exciting season this year though whoever may be at the top.
