Or we could simply get better.. Unlikely I know based on the Saturday's performance but there have been (albeit small) small signs of something positive in more games than there haven't. One thing I wholeheartedly agreed with Mick on was "Don't get too high when you win and don't get too low when you lose"

The Issue Hurst seems to have is that he hasn't been able to grasp the positivity and build on it for the next week. It's all been in isolation.... And worringly it seems to be becoming less and less frequent.

Agreed. Despite technically being one point away from the drop, I just cannot imagine the likes of Preston and Millwall hanging around the bottom three for too long. Hull and Stoke will make a change if needs be and will target experience. Our main hope is that their form continues to decline, that the likes of Rotherham and Bolton hit poor form and start to struggle more, and that we pick up a few wins in the crucial upcoming triple bill versus Millwall, Preston, and Reading.

If it comes down to it, we probably need to have a very good April and be mathematically safe going into the final two games against Sheffield United and Leeds United. The fixture list has not been kind enough to give us a final day battle with a relegation rival so even if we just about keep ourselves in the hunt I doubt it will be enough.

We're clearly in a mini league at the bottom.

Back on page 1 of this, I said QPR have better players than us. Sad, but true. They actually have quite a decent squad.

Looking at the table, 18-24 are in trouble. Top 17 have far too much about them to get sucked in. My thoughts on each - not that I know so much.

    * Us - absolutely pants with a pants manager. Bottom for a reason.
    * Hull - will be down there all season. Sold too many over the past 3 years. Basket case of a club. In trouble. Sadly, beat us comfortably.....
    * Millwall - I think too much to go down. Usually solid at home and I think will be fine. Big game for us Saturday............
    * PNE - follow a guy on twitter, apparently their best player is injured. He'll be back and they'll be fine.
    * Rotherham - awful away, decent at home. I think in with a shout of going down. Don't see that home record holding up.............. Like Hull though, beat us.
    * Reading. Another poor poor side, in with a shout of going. Did beat Millwall though. Must sort out home form...........
    * Bolton - low budget, but decent players. Think will be fine.

It's us / Hull / Rotherham / Reading with 3/4 going down for me.

January is going to be pivotal for us and others. What will Evans do? Will Hurst still be here!? Big week this.

Westy - i think the bottom six now, will be the same 6 at the bottom come end of the season, just depends which team can nick a few wins at the right time.
If we can somehow stay within 2/3 points come January, then i reckon we might just scrape through by the skin of teeth.
Hopefully we might be able to get one or two players in then, at a minimum a striker or two (i was also gonna mention Huws coming back, bat that ain't gonna happen any time this century)

We've certainly a chance of staying up.

Us lot 18th down to me are by quite some margin worse as squads compared with the rest of the league.

You might take some comfort from the fact that in the seasons I looked at, only two sides bottom of the table at the end of October stayed up and one was Ipswich Town in 2009-10.
