Can't see it making all that much difference tbh. Utd spend **** loads anyway, a few more million isn't going to change that. They are going through a **** spell now, but that is nothing to do with them not spending money, and guess what? They will spend more and get out of it and be up the top again challenging sooner rather than later, regardless of who owns the club.

  7. It's probably more to do with them having a manager who cannot coach.

Yeah it would appear Mourinho has lost the dressing room so it is just a matter of time before they bring someone else in. Give that someone else a **** ton to spend and be back amongst it again.

We don't need cash to win the league. We made money when we won it 14/15

You make some good points NSIS but I'm not sure that the Prem ever would become like La Liga in that regard ... yes the Manc clubs would have the biggest financial backers without doubt .... but the other owners underneath them are also incredibly rich and can afford to pay huge wages ... the solution would lie somewhere in restricting squad sizes (and also the number of players you are allowed to buy and send out on loan) ... whilst players, first and foremost, are greedy ****ers ... the ego of many will not be content to be somebody else's understudy ...

There is an analogy on these boards ... look at how HIAG has been fuming and spluttering at being @Matth_2014 's understudy? ...<whistle>

He needs to learn from Master Matth how to generate traffic and get attention on the Prem board.

You’re talking about what would be two Arab oil state owned clubs.

They can afford to buy players, trainers, facilities, anything they want really. It’s no coincidence that City have risen to be the preeminent PL club. It’s called money - bottomless pits of it in this case.

If taken over, Utd would effectively be owned by Saudi Arabia.

Nobody lives with that kind of financial firepower.

Doesn't guarantee success ... makes it more likely yes ... but the difference in La Liga is that the top 2 (and possibly Atletico) can pay wages that the rest can't get anywhere near ... that is less likely in the Prem and can be mitigated to some extent by rules around squad sizes and possibly FFP (although FFP is farcical as it stands) ...

City says it all. How to buy the league - FFP hasn’t stopped them. They just employ an army of the very best lawyers and accountants to dodge around the rules.

Money also buys you influence in certain places too!...and magically the rules change...

Utd, as wealthy as they are now, would become at least on a par with City’s financial power.

  17. It does, eventually .

What happened to Leicester was a fluke . It's about time you got over it .

No doubting their success ... but this would be their first back-to-back success if, as seems likely, they go on to win it again .... but 'Pool are a good example of why it will still be possible for others to challenge ... and who can forget Leicester City's amazing title winning campaign as recently as 2015/2016 <whistle>

Quentin - this is a proper footy chat ... you are out of your depth .... and without the benefit of your rubber ring you would be even more vulnerable ... let's just hope @Matth_2014 doesn't turn up to tear you yet another new one <laugh>
