Tbf, if Wes and Jack play like they did yesterday consistantly then that's not too bad and Chaz has seriously regressed this season (injuries catching up on him?), I still haven't given up hope of Gabbi coming good after a decent run in the team and Shane is ok with Danny alongside him. Like i've posted before, we are lacking Dusan's creativity and Mo El may come good, but I'm still waiting for a "wow" moment from him that suggests to me that he is a player.
WQe put up a better show against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final last season, than we did at St Mary's recently imo.
With his feet he is. When was the last time he scored with his head? I thought it was tad too high for him
My "problem" with Ely (I'm not sure if problem is the right word though, because it sounds too negative) is that he has seemingly been signed at the wrong time for us. After a year or two, he might turn out to be a real gem. The next cab off the rank to sold on for £30+. Absolutely no way I am writing him off after just three months. It's far too early for that, and he has shown the odd piece of quality. But we're not a side who is safely tucked away in mid-table (or better) and can afford to give such time to a player who in theory we're looking it as being one of our primary creative threats. We've had two years of attacking failure, the second of which should have cost us our place in the PL, and we've duly followed that up by selling Tadic - the player who arguably we our most indebted to for keeping us up in the those final two months. We don't need someone who might (or might not) come good in a year or two. We need someone to hit the ground running from the word go. And ideally with a bit of pace. Even if it's just a six or eight game purple patch like Gabbi had, that could be enough to raise the confidence and belief in the players (and fans) which can then be carried on for longer. Look at Redmond. After PEH, I would suggest he's been our best player this season (even though he doesn't have the goals and assists to show for it). He's a different player this year. But it's taken two years. And they've been a pretty awful two years, in part because we haven't had the quality elsewhere in the squad to cover for Redmond not contributing. I'm not sure we have another two years in us, to wait for Ely. We'll probably be in the Championship by then. Basically, Ely might be the right player - but at the wrong time.
Mane didn’t score for us until the October of his first season, but ended it with the fastest ever PL hat trick. I’ll settle for something similar from our Norwegian recruit!
Good point, hadn't thought of it like that. He's probably the winger we should have signed under Ron really
Lots of people saying that Bournemouth didn't play well and the reason for that was because we stopped them playing well.
That's a very good start when we are struggling....the next stage is to take advantage of that and score ourselves. It's easy....why hasn't anyone else worked that out.
Who would of thought it with me being so utterly clueless!! Lunch at the in laws then I shall get it up this evening .
Unfortunetly not! I only found out I was going this morning, she was crafty accepting the invite without me knowing , I’ve been properly tucked up!!
Reminds me of something, going back years ago now with one of my exes. We had a huge argument on the Friday night so I went out drinking (as you do) and ended up spending two days doing **** loads of amphetamine (as you should never do) and crawled back in about 7am Sunday morning, she then woke me up at 11 to say "Come on, we're going to my Dads for a roast dinner in a minute". She actually looked pretty startled when my response was "I think you'll find I'm ****ing not!"
Shame to let a good roast go to waste, even when it involves making tortured conversation with in-laws.
Tortured? I’d rather of been one of Mengele’s test projects than sit there and make **** small talk with her mum! **** me!
