Since 1992 when Keegan became manager of Noocarsel, we have had 4 relegation's and promotions and 2 of those relegation's were with record low and humiliating 19 and 15 points. We have had some absolute boneheads as manager such as Buxton, Crosby, Butcher and Sgt Wilko and even Sbragia plus, some truly awful players as well. In that same time, the filth have enjoyed managers with profiles such as Keegan, SBR, Dalglish, Gullit, Souness and although they have a couple of duck-eggs in there, they have all been given money to spend. Even the likes of Roeder and Allardyce (bet they wish they had kept him now) were fully funded and they have had some truly wonderful (thats not easy for a mackem to say BTW) players in their team. Of them all, what would I have given for a Ginola, Shearer or a Ferdinand during that time - if only. Apart from brief interludes under the guidance of Messrs Smith and Reid, our teams have been pretty hapless at times. They have enjoyed European football from 1994 to 2006, advancing pretty far as well at times and been to two Cup Finals. The introduction of Sir John Hall and his wealth transformed their club overnight from bit part players to genuine title contenders and they have been within touching distance on 3 or 4 occasions to wining the title in the last 20 years. They have enjoyed a rise to prominence due to those players and managers and do enjoy a bigger profile in the nation than we do, of that I cannot deny. However, that said, their average crowd this season wont be much more than ours at around 42,000/43,000 (ours will again be around thew 40,000 mark I reckon). Now, considering all the ****e we have put up with since 1992 and the glory years they have had up until the last 3 or 4, you'd think they would be totally blasting us out of the water in crowds (according to the barcode filth they are soooo much bigger than us you see) but the reality (or facts as I like to call them) are much more telling. Could it be that all they had were a bunch of glory hunting ****ers who have deserted the sinking ship at the first signs of trouble? Our 40,000 can hardly be accused of glory hunting, as there has been no ****ing glory since 1973 at the club, no European football at all and no cup final for nearly 20 years, yet our average is not that far from theirs. How many times have we paraded through the streets of Sunderland chanting sack the board and been seen playing up to the Sky TV cameras for national attention? When did we ever smash up our own city centre in digust at the teams performance (they did it when they won once as well) and to be very truthful, over the past 20 years we have had far more reason to do so? The answer is simple. We havent. Only once in the past 20 years, the Red Card display, have we shown such vitriol and it lasted 15 mins of the match not for the whole world to see. It was a well organised show of dissent towards Bob Murray, to show him we were rightly pissed off at the continual demise of the club. So, who then have the best and most loyal fans in the NE? Do I really need to say after this post? Wearside reigns supreme in the NE top fans stakes. Always have and always will.
Ouch , thread posted 44 minutes ago and just one comment , two with mine as well. Shows what people think of your bull ****.
Not really , it's not a bite if I just tell you the thread is ****. I could start telling you how we got a higher average attendance than you whilst we were in the Championship and you were in the Premier League and all that , but can't really be arsed...
People say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, they obviously don't spend much time on here. Creating a thread, and having nothing better to someone's reply than "Hurr durr hooked you in like" is the lowest form of wit
It's posts like these that show the world what a ****wit you are. Obviously , you had no leg to stand on , we're unable to make an on topic comment , so you just post a picture of Captain Hook. Oh ok then
Seriously , I want one of our mods to sticky this thread and show everyone your mature and on topic comments. Even if I was a mackem (God forbid) I would cringe after seeing your tripe. Have a good day , sir.
Well I'm actually laughing at you so if that makes you feel good then we're both winners! Working on getting this sticky'd just for MackemRules' (seriously , you would think he's 8 with a name like that) posts.
2 points : why would we wish we kept Allardyce, he had us as a boring mid table team, Pardew has us as a slightly more interesting mid table team. our attendance for a game that we know will have the lowest or one of the lowest attendances of the year was 42000. So how do you work out that our average will be 42000? that's our lowest, we will average 47/48000.
