You could open them in paint (if you're using a windows pc) and resize the image. That generally takes from Mb to Kb. If you use a phone or IPad then I don't think you can resize them?

There is a way that you can do it by reducing the file size ... I don't know how to but @Stan did it once on the pic of @Skylarker that I had to carry when I lost an avatar bet
