It's pretty safe to say that, at this present time, he is a long way short of being the best keeper in the world, Matthew ... in fact. if you were to pick a Best In World XI right now, it's unlikely that there would be any Manchester United players in it ... you'll just have to accept that, I'm afraid ...
So how do you measure 'best in the world' if it's not on 'current form', Matthew? ... can I claim that Peter Shilton still is? .... your major factor seems to be "if he plays for Manchester United" ... current form has to be the best measure, provided you weigh it over a fair and measurable period -- I'd argue that something like the last 6 months seems a fair gauge - if you do that, De Gea likely struggles to make the top 10, never mind the best - he had something of an embarrassing world cup and has looked quite dodgy ever since ... to be fair .....
Well he clearly isn’t seeing as you’re the only one that thinks so. As I’ve said before, he’s not even the best in Manchester anymore, Ederson is a cut above.
Your bias is unbelievable. Ederson is the best in the Prem at the moment. Not only is he a great shot stopper but his technique with the ball is better than most midfielders. He’s most definitely, as of right now, better than De Gea.
'A world XI' perhaps ... like the 5th choice keeper in the 5th choice world XI .... for me he is currently behind Allison, Ederson, Courtois, Obilek and Karius
