And build on the land an ermmm…. ice area? and an errrmmm ….swimming pool and errrmmm posh hotels and errrrmm….? (we haven't even thought about it just give us the land!!!.)
This is the piece everyone should think of when understanding why they got involved. All the bullshit about a gift is just nonsense. Remember the threats to move to Melton (complete with fake plans) in an attempted blackmail to get the ground and Walton St to build a supercasino (whatever happened to those?) hotel and squash centre?!?!
This has got form...In the past there's been a lot of hot-air (talk) about a potential take over, then the rumours die away and nothing happens ..This is following a similar pattern..IMHO a supposed takeover of HCAFC is 99% BS.
The one involving the trust may have something in it, because if not, they would have told us by now. If any deal had gone tits up, they'd tell us. There'd be no reason not to tell us. Keep the faith.
If I was competing with other buyers to buy something as big as a football club, I'd keep everything as quiet as possible. Any leak could trigger a higher, more favourable bid from a rival buyer.
/QUOTE="Boothferry2Wembley, post: 12213545, member: 1000147"]The best trip "season" you mention happened before the Allams had even heard of Hull City, they just paid the total cost of it when they took over the club and signed some cheques for just north of £40 million.
No they didn't. The problem wasn't what happened in that 'best trip' period (calendar year 08). And even if they did, it doesn't and cannot detract from the fact that that period was still the 'best trip' we've ever been on. And we were fortune enough to actually see history being made that could never be repeated. Please don't tell me you are somehow trying to defend the ****s or even giving them credit for what they have done during their tenure.

I am eternally grateful to Assem Allam for signing those cheques when he did and the fa cup final was ok i suppose
The FA Cup Final was ok but it was only temporary. Its like spending your £1 million inheritance on a flash, bang, wallop night out. Then borrowing an extra £40,000 to make it last into the following morning. You had a great time but you'll never be able to do it again and now you have to pay the money back. The Allams have spent over £600,000,000 and we're bottom of the Championship. We have nothing to be grateful to the Allams for. At least Bartlett showed the world that there was no glass ceiling stopping Hull City AFC getting into the Premier League.

Sorry Mr Driff.
I'm so grateful too, If he hadn't Bartlet would have had to asset strip the team, keep all the para payments and then after that the club could still have been over 60 million in debt, then he could have got really desperate and even unloaded it onto a couple of crooks, we could have been watching crap football and dropping through the leagues like a stone.
