I've not tried creating a poll before so forgive me if this ends up as a mess.

Quite simple which driver of the 4 contenders do you think will claim the title of vice champion?

edit: I have made it so the votes are not public.

I'm going to be daring and say both Webber and Jenson will fade after the season is over with Seb claiming the crown, whenever that is. Psychologically Alonso is in a better place than Lewis though, McLaren have the better car and seem more intent on pushing this year for bragging rights. So my choice will be............Lewis when the title charge is over and it's just a frenzy to the end of the year.

If it was "Who do you want to finish 2nd" the answer would be Alonso, but I think Button. I wouldnt be suprised if it was Hamilton though.

The McLaren is the best carand has been for most of the season imo, it's just everything at McLaren seems to go wrong at some point over the weekend, but I doubt thatit will continue all the way through, so I'm torn between Button, who has been one of the best, if not the best, driver this season, and Hamilton who is naturally faster than Button but too 'death or glory' to be consistent.

Webber or Alonso but i'll put my money on AussieGrit :D
What surprises me is that most people think Hamilton will still do it, which I think is weird as I don't see him beating his team-mate. But I've wondered this for a while, why am I always seeing clear favouritism from british fans in favour of Hamilton when there's Button as well? Don't mean to start arguments, just curious.

Nonsense. You know how I disgree with you on this so I'll not bother repeating myself other than to say that McLaren's 'under-achievement' is largely to do with not producing a properly competitive car from the word go: they will play 'catch-up' throughout the season and it will not be enough whilst Red Bull and Ferrari focus on their 2012 campaigns.

There's a bit of contradiction in that, saying that the McLaren has the best car and Button possibly being the best driver. If so, why isn't he leading the championship? You can't blame it all on strategic and pit errors when both driver have suffered from these things on occasion. He and Hamilton are only separated by 3 points. It's all subjective.

I can't believe some people do not think Red Bull has had the best car, they had the best car last year and this year they have built on it. Just look at the facts; Red Bull have had pole position at every GP so far this season, they have had 6 fastest laps, won seven races, and neither cars has finished outside the top five so far this year. Red Bull have had the best car this season and by quite a margin.

no, RBR had the best car at the start of the season, McLaren ****-ups have cost them dear, McLaren have had the best car in 7 of the 12 races (ok, that's imo, but I put a list on the other thread that is the same as this one, take a look and disagre4e if you will, but look first).

Buttons retirements have been both been mechanical and out of his hands, Lewis's have been his own fault, so I'm not contradictory at all. Vettel hasn't had one piece of bad luck yet apart from a faulty KERS early in the seaosn when the DID have the fastest car by a mile.

It is hard to segregate the car performance from the driver performance which makes it pretty much impossible to tell which car is faster. However if you look at the things that suggest a fast car like qualifying, fast laps and consistency of results, then Red Bull blow everyone out of the water in these areas. They have got pole at every single races, done six fastest laps which is double what Mclaren have done, and they have failed to finish below fifth place yet this season. I think driver performance and the new regulations have flattered the pace of the Mclaren this year. For me this years Red Bull is even more dominant than last years.

yet despite having all the luck, 0 penalties they still have only a 7-5 advantage as far as wins go.

Hamilton is a better driver than Button and always will be. But Button has a persona that is more likeable and chatty. Lewis will beat Jenson in my opinion just because of his qualifying performances but not by more than 10 points.

As for who has the fastest car, it's so obvious it's Red Bull. Got every pole this year and that's when the fuel is trimmed down and engine turned up and fresh tyres and when the driver pushes to the limit.

Webber for me, started to hit form and adapt to the tyres more. Great drive in Spa and if it wasn't for the bad start I feel he would have been standing on the top step of the podium.

Not Webber. I honestly can't see him winning a race this season. Not Alonso either because Ferrari have stopped development. So it's between the McLarens, I'm going with Button.

I am sorry but you are wrong, it is blatantly obvious to even the most casual observer that HRT have the best car and driver line up by far, but they have simply under performed with bad strategies and pit stop errors.

Without doubt, Karthikeyan could have won this championship. HRT just couldn't admit they were screwing his strategy up. He has been easily the best driver this season.
