I can't count the times I was banned on old BBC 606. Before they were officially banned I used to have several socks all set up using same email address... Anyhow one of those socks was the "kid of an Everton fan". All meant in humour. Anyhow, I got reported for being too young and banned because my sock was a kid. I wouldn't have minded but my real account and other socks were on same email address so they all got banned too. After that I signed up again but someone ratted on me for being a banned user come back so they did an ip address ban on me. So I started spoofing my IP address and being a deliberate trouble maker after that to see how long I could go without getting banned. TLDR; I got forum banned dozens of times on old BBC 606. I couldn't even guess an accurate number. I'm not like that anymore. Too much trouble and effort being a WUM.
Me and @PleaseNotPoll managed to get one of the old BBC mods to jump in and demand that we 'knock it off' after some Arsenal v Spurs ding dong. Was the first and only time I'd ever seen one of the mods actually comment on one of the threads.
I had three socks on BBC 606, never got banned with any of them because i went to school with the guy who ran the show. it became more tricky when they factored out the moderation over the last few years of before they threw it in.
Yeah,the last few years were chaos. Wum central. Mods couldn't keep up with their strict code for the forum. I remember we found out that certain words go direct to a mod for review... Not blocked words like **** and ****... But semi blocked words that meant your post went to a mods review list automatically. For example "Mum, and Hooker" did. Mum presumably involved in a lot of insults and Hooker could be legit talking about Rugby. During the flood control (had to wait 2 mins between posts) there was a different message given if you had a semi-banned word in your post. Everytime we found a new word we would add it to a list of words to misspell if you didn't want a moderator reviewing your post . Some were weird... Like sheep and carp were on the list. So was "Wunter" and "Knosuj" from two fake newspapers we would often quote... The mods learnt that when .we quoted those fake papers we were up to no good
I loved the way you had to try and circumvent the moderation on BBC606. There were some great icons that you could use to make it look like there was a cock with two balls squirting jizz
I remember that... Of course they would delete your post if you did that too. Not 606 is demonstrably lacking in semen icons.
