This is just going on the Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool boards because historically any problems of OTT wind ups seem to be between you, that’s what success brings I guess?

These forums are for football fans to meet up and discuss their team, occasionally we go onto other teams boards to discuss football and yes it has been known to have a little wind up. I honestly believe that 99.9% of fans on this forum do exactly that and know how to give and take the odd wind up. The moderator’s role is to ensure the small minority left do not spoil it for the vast majority.

Could I ask you to please help your moderator, they don’t get paid, give their time freely to try and make your board the best it can be, I stress it’s your board.

If you are thinking of going onto the board of another team to debate, great, if your only aim is to incite or insult then please think again, its not what this forum is about. More importantly if a particular member is constantly coming onto your board to WUM you, we all know who they are, remember they only have an affect if you react. Whatever you say is what they want, logic and insults fail, its attention they crave, deprive them of it and they go away. Ignoring their articles is easy but how do you ignore their comments, easy, use the ignore function. If you all do it they will die off very quickly. Settings, Ignore List, Type in user name, send.

Finally can I say to the serial wum’s, the moderators neither have the time nor desire to spend their day reasoning, warning or deleting? Continue what you are doing and they will tell me and I will ban you from that particular board. Continue elsewhere and you will be banned from this forum.

I really don’t want to come over heavy handed but all I ask is we all respect our fellow football supporters. We all know our team is the best, we have no luck, they get all the luck, they are arrogant, and we are not. Trouble is they feel exactly the same.

Awe stop being such a ****! Lol, jk. I would venture onro the Arsenal board now and again but only really for debate but I think your pleas will fall on deaf ears in the cases of WUMs of all clubs. I don't mind a bit of winding up anyway, so long as it doesn't cross a line. Unfortunately, when you get idiots mentioning Munich and being racist, not going to mention a certain Leyton Orient fan (Leyton Orient, who are they?!) it's not really welcome.

I doubt this thread will stop the wums, but if everyone else follows this advice then the wums won't be getting the reactions they're after.

It is hard to resist pointing out someones stupidity at times, but when it's someone who's obviousely just after a reaction it's best to ignore them.

If they're being racist or insulting the dead then that's not just a wum, that's sick, but they're still just after a reaction. I'd report those comments without hesitation and the odds are that someone posting comments like that will be a repeat offender and get banned. It's always best not to respond to thoes people either.

Or take them out with a sniper rifle as leave school.

Either way the forum, and world is a better place.

I was having a good laugh with a couple of Arsenal fans yesterday on here. None of us were getting offended, though I know that some of the things we were saying could have been deemed insulting by the fainter of heart. But I would say that is a bit different to what the OP is saying here, or am I wrong?

It seems any sort of banter or perfectly innocent comments about other teams or on other teams boards, arn't allowed.

No you are right and I am all for football fans going on other teams boards for debate and banter. What I am asking for is help, simple as that. I dont get easily offended and this is a grown up forum with the tools like the no swear option and ignore facility there to help people self mod. We have a very small minority who over step the line, it really is a very small minority and what I'm asking is simple, if they upset or annoy you then dont go on that thread or use the ignore button then they are no longer a problem. Not getting at anyone or trying to dictate, if the majority want this to be a free for all then a free for all it will be but they dont, we need some control but self control will always be the only long term solution.

It seems this swear filter is causing more problems than it's worth.

No offence, but i've only now noticed how old some of the people on here are, and it puts into context how childish the behaviour is.

Why don't you also throw in good dress sense, good dancers, in-depth knowledge of celebrity matters and a whizz with a pair of scissors and hair dye?
Hopefully what you say isn't true, it's great to talk about football, but it's also great to gravely insult complete strangers for a bit of a laugh <ok>
