With the spreading insurgency across the middle east and North Africa, Britain has decided to become a major player in world affairs once again. We were the country that really pushed the libyan revolution forward (france suggested it, we really embraced and promoted it, perhaps wrongly), now we want a piece of Syria. That is why our (in)glorious leader, Mr. Cameron, Shall be renamed Dave the (attempted) conqueror. Any other countries you want Britain to attempt to "Reform?"

P.S. I'm not advocating reform, it's just a suggestion thread. The libyan reformation is partly wrong, considering a lot of the top rebels are actually Al-Qaeda members. (shame the BBC doesn't seem to mention that) I'm anti Gaddafi, but i'm more against Al-Qaeda.

I have no sympathy with the idea that a country should act on the basis of being liked by others

It should always act with its own interest/beliefs in mind

If that means being hated by the Syrias, Irans and North Koreas then so be it

Thats where we seem to be going wrong. The EU leads, and we follow, like a dog.

So are you for or against it??

Personally I don't see the need in getting involved in other countries affairs, lets face it Britain doesn't have a great track record in foreign policy either.

Let Libya sort it out themselves ffs.

I was abit concerned when the leader of the rebels was killed <laugh>

They are certainly not all Al-Queda, some may have extremist views but essentially they all hate Gaddafi & that is what unites them.

The trouble will be joining all the different factions of the rebels to form a government.

CFH you will know that I'm not adverse to exchange of insult on GC (I can excuse stupidity so I don't take it personally)( and most of it is only meant to be inane fun .) I actually believe that ALL humans on Earth should be treated in a humane and dignified way. Unfortunately the USA ( and its' puppet, Britain ) only CHOOSE to interfere if there might be oil in the country. Where are the USA in Somalia and other areas of political injustice to the population ? ( Sorry no oil ) ------ Peace to the world.
