It's okay. But it's essentially just a re-branding of the current format. My idea meant that 36 teams would start the season with the opportunity of being crowned champions. Yours still only allows 18. Until there is increased competition among more teams, money won't get spread equally, because very few people care about the second tier, whatever it's name might be.
Yeah was never confident when he stepped up, even when they went in they were never convincing, never saw him Rickie one.
I miss Dusan Would love to see Saints vs Ajax in pre-season or something so that we can show our appreciation to him one last time. Duuuuusan Tadic. He is a very talented footballer, but he really is a very poor penalty taker. It beggars belief that he keeps managing to shoehorn himself into club and country as the go-to penalty taker. Surely he hasn't managed that at Ajax too!?
I hate players who do the gimpy slow stutter run up! Put the ball down, pick a spot and go full on Rickie lambert mode, 9/10 times you will score, if you don’t , the keeper saves it and it’s a great save and you can have no arguements. I fail to see the complication! Or you can do the gimpy slow stutter run up, make your self look a complete nob and that’s before you’ve even shanked it 10 yards over the bar .
When I read that Tadic had skied the penalty, I thought he had gone for power. Having just watched it, and seen that he didn’t go for power but for placement, that makes it an absolutely shocking miss. If his record is 9 misses out of 39 attempts, he really shouldn’t be taking them. Your record as a penalty taker, a free shot, should be a better ratio, than missing 1:4.
I did. He leathered one into the top corner v Leicester when we won 3-0. Brilliant penalty which made me wonder why he didn't take them like that all the time.
Well remembered, had forgotten that! Easier to take them at 2-0 up in the last minute then when you're drawing 0-0 with Burnley/Hull or losing to Inter.
In 25+ years of the PL, 83.4% of penalties have been converted. It's lower in recent years, though: from 2014-15 through 2017-18, it was just 76.1%, so Tadic is right at the average there.
I really like Sarri, although it will be interesting to see how he is after a couple of poor results and a Mike Dean late, dodgy penalty for Spuds
Spuds? They play United this weekend don't they? Just thought it was brilliant to hear and clearly two blokes who love the game.
