He doesn't really need to work hard when you've got David Nugent playing alongside him, along with backup like Darius Vassell and our new German Under 19 international sensation Jeffrey Schlupp. Wellens, King, Fernandes and Danns will do the running in midfield for him too. It's just our defence is ****e.
I heard your defense and midfield were promotion standard and all you were missing was a striker... He's unbelievable, he'll tear the league apart.
The defence still needs work but I think we have the personnel. We can't keep conceding an average of 2 a match, that's for sure. The midfield is sorted for me, and Beckford is the missing link up front, so these are exciting times.
Your defense can't be as bad as ours, surely. I'm worried our attack will take a big hit with Gradel going, I have no idea who the **** we're gunna put on the left wing. Probably Nunez, but he is so very right footed, Gradel could always cross with his wrong foot.
Our defence is fine it will just take time for the players to get used to each other. Mills, Bamba, Pantsil and Konchesky are are solid players. We just need another striker as i only rate Nugent and Beckford
Did you bring anyone in to replace Gradel or was it totally out of the blue? As I said, I think the personnel is there in defence, it's just going to take time. I think a striker will only come in on loan if anything happens to Nugent or Beckford.
I reckon were gonna come good very soon and have a run of 5/6 wins on the bounce. The team is really coming along nicely, the players are gelling and the team is building confidence, I reckon we'll smash Barnsley. I would say that we will get a months or so loan or a prem striker to fill in for Nugent, Vassell can't play every game. also think we will get a Winger. Someone on FT reckons we are Harrys first choice for Andros Townsend, he's class. The future is bright for the blue and whites.
The defence doesn't have a leader for me, that's the problem. It Should be Mills since he's captain but he looks the most uncomfortable of the lot. Bamba is great on his day he just needs to stop being a muppet in his own box and just get rid. Konchesky gets beaten by pace and needs more cove and support.
I'm starting to understand why you lot don't believe us when we say Schmeichel is awful. Beckford can show other talents at times but really he's nothing more than a goalscorer. But he's a bloody good one. He was probably forced out of the door by Everton who can't afford to turn down 4 million bar.
Maybe we should just use Beckford as a goalscorer then, cause I was actually thinking of putting him in midfield as our midfield is not very good is it? What a f*cking bunch of tools? this is true. He is an exceptional clinical finsiher but offers little else. The price is right for him, as he will bang them away. I just hope our fans realise this when he isnt chasing down every lost cause...
It does change the fact that we got a ****ing good deal for the lad. 10 goals in the Prem, you won't get someone like that for less than 2.5m. Class signing and that's why you're here. You don't want to admit we may have bought a striker who may just get 25 goals for us. I can't really name another top class one in a tea, that will supply him with enough chances for 25+ goals. Players like Maynard, Sharp and Mackail-Smith are decent, but I would take Beckford over them all anyday. I would love Billy Sharp, I reckon someone will sign him on the cheap and he'll bang in a ****load of goals in a class side.
id still prefere maynard, he can create out of nothing. beckford is one of the best english finishers. Though wherever he has been, he has played (in a sort) iff a target man (eg cahill, becchio). Will work well with nugent doing the work for him, but in the mean time, howard would be a great partner. like i said before though, wont happen.
So can Beckford. Go on YouTube and look at some of his goals. He finished 2nd on goal of the season last season when he skinned the whole Chelsea team on the final day. Only Wayne Rooneys overhead kick against Man City finished higher
