It has its moments, particularly when it's flashing back to the house and kids. The 'scary' moments are mostly signposted, though, and the editing is haphazard. My wife and daughters are enjoying it more than me, so I suppose it has its audience. When it comes to horror, I'm hard to please. The works of James Herbert (the master) set the standard for me.
