England U21s beat Andorra 7-0 to qualify easily for the European Cup next year. I know it was only Andorra, but lots to enjoy....fast accurate passing, real skill and most encouraging of all....team work with no selfishness on display....even though you might forgive a player if they had chosen to hog the ball with goals to grab. This reflects well on the ideas laid down by Southgate. Angus Gunn was unused sub.

OK, so apparently a Red Star Belgrade official bet 5 million Euros that PSG would beat Red Star by 5 goals (PSG won 6-1). How do you bet that much money without it being investigated? Who would accept that bet? PSG were 5-0 up and Red Star scored before Neymar scored one more. How do you bribe 2 teams with one of them containing International stars? https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45843131
Didn't know @Black was the Leeds owner. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/oct/10/leeds-owner-premier-league-two-replace-championship
While I hate to agree with any of the nutters who have run Leeds in recent years, there's some logic in it. A league where the TV revenues were sufficient to i) ensure that teams were healthy going into the PL, and ii) ensure that teams falling out of the PL were healthy beyond the first couple years of the parachute payments isn't a bad idea. Beyond that, there's a genuinely useful element in boosting the spending power of the Championship for PL teams: there is no longer an easy place for the PL to dump underperforming players on significant wages. The financial divide between the two leagues has caused problems for the second-tier PL sides, because no one else in the world pays 40k p/w for a rotation player. Reducing the gap between the PL and Championship would aid that.
There are 2 Longs in the Irish team tonight. As they say, could be a Long night for the Irish tonight (if you're waiting for a goal)
I'm not in love with the link to the Euros, but having a somewhat competitive outlet instead of friendlies strikes me as a good thing.
I'll wait to see how that works before passing too much judgement, think we might see teams trying to be relegated.
Don't know what @Black 's opinion is, but something like this would work Premier League 1 (18 teams) Premier League 2 (20) EFL1/2/3 (20/20/20) =98 teams PL Cup for PL1/2, FL Cup for the other 3. FA Cup for everyone 2 up/2 down between PL1 and 2 maybe with a Bundesliga style play off And a winter break!!
