Just curious. How many of the posters on here where on the original Double Decker's run by Suggy/Dill. Original City Psycho buses I guess. Start with Myself. Any more out there.
Tick What happened to Dill, I haven't seen him for ages? I wonder if he still keeps a permanent locker at Paragon Station?
I went to away games on Simon Gray travel until the official travel took control! I remember having to look for his number in the HDM every other week to book my spot, I don't know how he ever made any money I'm sure he always used to charge ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã10 wherever we went
I believe that the double decker bus trips were organised by Suggy and his mate Kev. Kev is still a regular and is often sen in the company of the the two Ian's, the guys behind City independent. The dill brothers pick and choose their matches these days, both have expressed disillusionment with modern football, particulairly the prem experince. Both have over 100 away venues on their card including pre seasons in Holland, freindly matches in Gibraltar etc. There love of Hull City is beyond question. Dean, you would have had to have been a teenager in 1979 to be part of those times. So yes, it would only apply to city fans of a certain age.
Your right. forgot about Kev. See nige on sporadic moments. Yeah he is a bit dissolutional about modern Football. Moved to Spain he and wife Lynne came back for the Prem 1st season. Apart from losing his hair for someone I have known for 20+ years he aint changed much.
I was 13 (unlucky for some) in 1979, But also living in Calgary, I didn't go to an away game until 1987, The bus run was organised from a house on north road.
Th buses used to knackered. Lucky if we reached Lincoln never mind Calgary. You also missed the Early 80,s then. You must of seen hell of a lot more lows than highs.
I was watching ice hockey (NHL) in the early eighties. Great sport, Especially the bit where they knock **** out of each other.
Moved back to Hull and just started going, I had dreams of playing at a higher level than I did in Canada but ended up playing American football of all things
E 18, do you remember Ricky Heritage? The big fat bully with the star tatooted on his face? He had a habit of threatening and intimidating the organisers and other City fans for money, he was a leftover remnant from the old skinhead days. If you do, you may recall how that came to an end. Happy days!
i remember ricky heritage.....jacko and macko, fez. monte , alex , wolfie etc etc etc... hanging out in monte carlo cafe, standing in paragon station and "conning" enough money to get on the footy special train on a saturday morning...johnny firkettle, ray harvey the jimmy hendrix look alike hippy , hanging out in king arthurs..attacking the gondola club with all the dirty rockers inside....pc nisbitt....first got my head shaved in late 1969...a pair of x army boots for a quid a pair from army and navy stores [ before dms ]..gothenburg coffee club [ drinking den ] etc etc.. The good old days before fencing, cctv cameras , organised plod ..guess im a left over from the skinhead days as i sit here with my 18 hole cherry reds, and my old harrington hanging on the door, still shaven headed.....
