Good thread It's easy to risk sounding like your parents but i definitely had more freedom when I was younger. When I was 14 I went to Margate with four mates. There's no way my 15 year old niece would be allowed to do that now. The worrying thing is that in three years kids like her will be 18 and be able to do anything they like but won't have a lot of street sense.
Do you think a lot off youngsters are actually encouraged not to go out, and stay safe indoors, as everyone outside is either a Peado, rapist or murderer (as the media would have us believe).
Good point Comm. There were just as many *****philes about when we were kids. It's in the news a lot more these days and parents think there's one lurking on every street corner.
This made me laugh...when i was 15 id left school and got a job Albeit i never realised i couldn't work full-time until my 16th birthday. I was getting served in pubs at 15 and got to know the landlords in case the old bill turned up. Got raided a few times but you learnt how to disappear quickly. Cigs were easy, had vending machines in them days. And here i am today surrounded by health freaks that legally have a big mac for breakfast.
