Jagged and Richards couldn't write songs originally..
Their manager locked them In a room and made them come up with some songs..
    Thank God he did ..
    The greatest rock band ever..
    Concerts are outstanding

I thought that was you. Ok.. so you don't like the pigeons either. Who likes pigeons?

You have to like the Eagles, everyone likes the Eagles.

What about "a flock of seagulls" and what about "the Byrds"?

I never liked the Beatles, but as individual artists they were far more talented than the members of ABBA ever were. However, I would still much prefer to listen to the latter as a group. Best way i can think to describe it is it would be like Wham without George Michael, but the difference being the individual would never have sustained his fame within the group, unlike the Beatles which more reflected the decade they represented, but i just find their monophonic sound (until the late 60's) very grating, hence as individual artists the technology within the music industry evolved and their individual careers from the 1970's (the break-up) along with it.

Yeah I get what you mean. Obviously my main post was tongue in cheek a little bit but I do think that Abba (thanks maybe to ****e like mamma Mia etc) have stood the test of time better.

It's all individual taste really but I do think that likes of Roy Orbison was a better singer than say Elvis, but Elvis is what I would rather listen to. Likes of Annie Lennox have imo an amazing voice but the whole Eurythmics thing didn't do **** all for me.

George Michael , again imo, had one of the best voices in British music and did good stuff after wham . But people mainly sing the wham numbers.

Then there are those who made huge difference to music but were not all that. I refer to the likes of the guy who did 19 (Vietnam song). The whole n.n.n.n.n nineteen thing was new but I can't remember his name

Two singers that have made me really sit up and take notice in the last 20-30 years. Both female.

    Amy Winehouse and Adele.

    Both extravagantly talented.
