Imo if they actually a pledge the paper has altered documents then the paper can sue Ronaldo.

    at this point

    a) he's now admitted sex. there's no question about location, timing, or who. given there was a rape kit this is telling.

    b) his lawyers now admit there are documents but they have been "altered" so these documents clearly are key now can cant be denied that a settlement took place.

this story started very slowly with almost disregard from.press but it's now snowballing to the point where he is not able to avoid it any more and is swimming against the tide.

I wonder if fifa had a good idea what was up and that's why he wasn't at wolrd player of the year awards and wasn't the winner as usual.

anyway...... I think this one will snowball. there has to be some lodgement of these documents somewhere with original signatures and in the court of public scrutiny and in the court of never a these will be admissible.

if he paid her off and she did lodge a letter stating what he did and the clear evidence comes in from the medical.report that she was bruised and torn up...

the guy will have to go to jail.

So Ronaldo is punishing Uefa by not taking part in the Nations League because he reckons he should have won the award instead of Modric, he also reckons Real were in cahoots with Uefa because they're still angry he decided to leave.
I'd say if this story is true he's punishing his country rather than those he's targeting.

Cristiano Ronaldo 'to boycott Nations League' because of Real Madrid fury at Juventus move

In reality it's probably because the rape allegation against him is spiralling out of his control.

In reality he should grow the **** up and just get on with the job he is paid to do.
He presumably has no contract with Portugal and lord knows I am no fan of international football, but if I was the Portugese coach then I would say "Fine, you want to be left out, you can be left out, but dont expect to play for Portugal ever again".

Who gives a **** about some crappy award anyway? He has won enough awards to last 9 lifetimes. He s behaving like a little bitch.
This is why I prefer Messi, he is far more humble and modest

Agree with you on the entirely Bod, he's that far up his own hoop he's placing priority on football matters and trivialities because he obviously doesn't think he'll end up in a Nevada courtroom and possibly a Nevada State Prison.
    **** him.

I think the real story is he is petrified to travel and get picked up somehow on a warrant.

he needs to realise that if the yanks have a real case the Italians will be at his door.

it would be interesting to know if Italy has a different law on extradition or something and that's why he moved.

finally..... I can't see him travel.with juve either

Just want to make a point about this

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45831904

    "bold new era"

I will predict now (not hard) that england will flop in next Tournament (euros)

    There are 3 good reasons:

    1. Southgate is absolutely insistent on playing 3 at the back with no deviations and in international football the centre of midfield is where it is at.

    2. Southgate is flooding his squad with kids. Great i hear some say but right now he needs to have a 1.5 year plan to have a squad for the euros.... players are pulling the same old withdraw crap on him. Theres no point flooding the team every international break with players having virtually no chance of being in final 23. He's had two inernational breaks already since world cup to change things up and look and this is no 3. He needs to settle on 15/16 very reliable players who will eb there each break and be his go to men.

    3. england playing squad is still not all that.

    Pickford in goal. good
    Trippier RWB/RB. good
Rose/Shaw/Chilweel... pick one ffs. nothing wrong with any of them if they chose to learn and not think they know it all. (i see signs of that in chilwell)
Walker at RCB or gomez. WALKER is never a RCB.
    Stones. calamity
    Maguire. immobile..
henderson.. or dier... eric has the right name for this position
barkey? lingard? woeful. he's got foden to try but he's inexperienced and won't be really ready for euros
    Alli/ loftus cheek
    sterling/ rashford?
    kane

If ngland don't get goals of set piece aided by VAR then this tieam aint marvellous.

Completely agree with all of this (except one thing which I will bring up in a minute), including England flopping at the Euros.
I am gonna wager they get knocked out in the first knock out stage or maybe the Quarters at best (after finishing second in their group).

Where we disagree is on Lingard, he is a great player and will get better, Barkley also has improved in recent weeks now he is over his injury and is getting game time with a stable team and a good manager.

I think it's just the same old journalese we see every time England aren't actually ****e.
They get built up with unrealistic expectations born of a decent run against mediocre opponents, and then ripped to shreds when reality bites.
It's a bit unfair on Southgate and his players, tbh. I don't think any of them believe they're world-beaters - apart from 'Arry, of course.

I always think the massive variance in styles in the premier league hamper England. Teams like City, Liverpool and now Chelsea play a certain way, but players at say Tottenham and Utd another. Then when England meet up players like Sterling take a lot of sh!t (he is a tw@t), because he is used to playing fast passing football, then expected to partner Kane who wants everything pinged towards him in a completely different style. The game just bypasses Sterling.

Reds Champions League group facing match-fixing claims
Liverpool’s Champions League group has become embroiled in controversy after reports in French suggested possible match-fixing.

    Ian Doyle writes:

A story in French news outlet L’Equipe on Friday claimed UEFA have informed French authorities to investigate Paris Saint-Germain’s 6-1 Group C win over Red Star Belgrade last week.
It is alleged that a senior figure at Red Star attempted to bet almost 5 millions euros on the Serbian champions losing the game by five goals.
The story suggests UEFA had alerted the French national finance prosecutor (PNF) about the match in the build-up to the game, with only UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and close associates aware of the investigation.
Neymar scored a hat-trick as Red Star were thumped 6-1 at Parc des Princes on

Premier League reveals festive TV games

Premier League teams will have one more day's rest in this year's festive period than they did in 2017, but will still play four games in two weeks.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said last season the schedule would "kill players" after they faced Watford 48 hours after a New Year's Eve game.

There were no fixtures on only three days last year. This year there are no matches on 24, 25, 28 or 31 December.

Liverpool's trip to Manchester City has moved to 20:00 BST on 3 January.
