Bit gutted for Hogan, and PVM to a lesser degree. Can't really argue with any of the players in the 25 though!
QPREphraim misses out on 25-man QPR squad Hogan Ephraim has been left out of the 25-man QPR squad submitted to the Premier League on Friday afternoon. Ephraim is set to spend the first half of the season out on loan, largely because of the surprise inclusion of Jamie Mackie in manager Neil Warnock’s 25. Mackie is still recovering from the broken leg he suffered last term and was expected to be loaned out to gain match fitness before January, when top-flight clubs are allowed to re-submit their squads. Instead, the Scotland forward has made the cut this time around, leaving Ephraim facing the prospect of a drop back down to the Championship. There is also no place for Dan ****tu which will alert Millwall, who wanted to keep him following his short spell at The Den last season but missed out when Rangers made the defender a lucrative offer to return to Loftus Road. Millwall are also interested in Rob Hulse who, as expected, missed out along with Norwegian misfit Petter Vaagan Moen – who may be given a free transfer – and Patrick Agyemang. iReader http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/ephraim-misses-out-on-25-man-squad/?
CliveLFW gutted about Dave! =================== "There will be an assessment of our transfer window, our 25 man squad, and the business done elsewhere online tomorrow at some point. it will include a big sigh of relief across roughly 300 words that I will not have to watch that fcking useless carthorse again this season."
Hogan for makie would be my only change purely because of fitness. Having said that if he's in the squad he can't be far away
Feel very sorry for Hogan, but we all knew that last year's squad was no where near good enough for the Prem. NW must be very confident that Mackie is getting back to fitness, as it looks like a straight choice between the two. Can't argue with the squad though. Looks about right to me.
Don't know why Perone was chosen over either Shyttu or Ramage but I guess I should give him more of a chance. He hasn't impressed me so far but he might just need time to adjust. Also, he can be taken out in January if need be. Otherwise, I'm happy with that squad! Mid table at least!
Surprised by Mackie's inclusion ahead of Hogan. Would think it would take him a month or so to get back to good match fitness. Also what was the point in signing PVM. Hardly ever played and seemed like a quality player when we signed him
Well, PVM had chances and never set games on fire so it's not like they didn't give him a chance at all.
Feel really really sorry for Hogan. Have always liked him. The writing was on the wall when Puncheon joined for me. Hope he gets a good club and can stake a claim in Jan. You never know, Puncheon may not do enough for a permanent move which would give him an opportunity. Sorry for PVM as well. I was very very excited about him and from what I saw against Blackburn I thought he was going to play a massive part both last year and this. Think Ramage will return in Jan and replace Perone. Just the fact that he can fill in at RB gives him the upper hand for me. Not to mention the small matter that is ability.
I also feel for Hogan, but I think we all knew that Hulse, Rowlands, Cook and co would be the one's left out
Fair point but it's hard to judge a player on 8 appearances (2 starts and 6 sub) when he may still have been adjusting to life in England. Can't go from being a good player to horrendous overnight (unless you're Rob Hulse!)
Disagree that PVM had his chances. He started that ill fated FA cup game at Blackburn, other than that, he was restricted to a few substitute appearances. As for Hoges, having looked at the 25 man squad, I'd be hard pushed to leave one out to include him. Totally agree that Mackie is in there ahead of him.
You can add Andrade, Harriman, Hewitt, Doughty* and Ehmer* as available to the squad as they are under 21. I don't know about Balanta* as he turned 21 on 1st July. (When was the cut-off date?) Also on the books are Vine*, Pellicori, Borrowdale and Alberti. I don't know how much longer they have on their contracts. *Out on loan.
