Things are starting to settle down a bit and the team is showing signs that they are gelling.
How do you lot out there think things are progressing so far.
Here’s my opinions and feel free to rip them to bits or agree.

Goalkeeper. McLaughlin is probably our best acquisition of the season. He’s become a fans favourite and with Stryczk(?) coming through to be his eventual number 2 (Ruiter is ok for now) I’m happy with our keeper situation.
    Rating. McLaughlin. 8.5
    Ruiter. 5.5

    Back 4.
Mike Baldwin has established himself as our number 1 central defender with Flanagan as probably his best partner. Loovens is ok to bring on but I doubt he will be here next season. Ozturk has had a fairly poor start but maybe with more games will improve.
    Baldwin. 8
    Flanagan. 6.5
    Loovens. 5
    Ozturk. 4

    The wingbacks/defenders.
O’Video and Hume are both fine players and we are well served down the left. If we lose O’Video we still have James so the left is fine.
The right isn’t so good as Love and Matthews are ok but not as good as those on the left.
    O’Video. 7.5
    Hume. 7
James. Not enough games yet to rate.
    Matthews. 5.5
    Love. 5

    Midfielders.
Here we have a good crop with Catts playing his best for ages. McGeogh will, I think, improve, Power is good at this level, Honeyman is ok but I think he was better last season. McGuire has been one of our best performers as well.
    Catts. 8
    McGeoch. 6
    Power. 7
    Honeyman 6.5
    McGuire. 8

    Wings.
Both McGeady and fans favourite Gooch are enjoying life down in div 1 and can both easily step up to the Championship level.
    McGeady. 7.5
    Gooch. 8

    Strikers.
Only Maja has had a good run in the striker department and he has grabbed the opportunity with both feet. Wyke has been out injured almost all the time he’s been here. Sinclair, after a decent showing against Charlton, hasn’t really impressed and Duncan has yet to feature although I have my concerns about how he will be once he’s back playing. Will he have lost some speed and will he avoid some tackles because of his unlucky experiences so far. Of course I (we all) hope he’ll be as good as before but time will tell.
    Maja. 8
    Sinclair 5

The young ‘uns seem to have a couple of live wires, Kimpioka (?) and Mumba look good.

    Jack Ross.
He’s doing well and seems to be a good fit for us.
    Ross. 8

Stuart McDonald and. Charlie Methven. M&M
Both have bought in to the club and are doing all the right things.
    M&M. 9

N’Dong and Djellybaby. Good riddance, learn from Catts and O’Video how professionals should behave.
    Both. 0

Apologies to any I’ve missed out.

    There you are then.
What do you out there think?

Pre-season I saw a fairly long settling in period with a completely new squad of ‘strangers’. Hoping to be in touch at least with the play off places. So I see our start ad being phenomenal, with most of the kudos going to JR and his coaches and the backing of a dynamic boardroom. If Jack can bring in the one or two he missed in the summer window, I believe we should justify our position as favourites to go up direct. Hope I haven’t put the mockers on the club now - I do have this miserable ability. Lol

I'd say those ratings are all uncannily bang on. It's almost unreal what the club has managed to achieve considering the utterly miserable state it was in from top to bottom. It was rotten.

I would not rate McGeady a full point over Honeyman, I would give them both a 7 rating otherwise its a very good assessment Mr Farley, the start has been better than I expected tbh, and we are in a very strong position , the new brooms have done brilliantly, hardly put a foot wrong, onwards and upwards.

I'd give Honeyman a 4. Always jogs, seldom sprints; consistently muscled off the ball and seldom wins a challenge; half the time he passes back to the player who just passed to him, the rest of the time he is a turnover machine. He does show some creativity when he's in the opponents 18 yard box, but he is a passenger else where. I might have given him a 5 if he didn't look, walk, run and play like a homosexual.

Maja 8 out if 10 feels pretty stingy. 19 year old kid top scorer of the league. He could barely have been better.

Sounds a bit like Henderson, except George scores goals now and again , just joking, and I get your point, he has not been at his best recently, maybe the mid-field mix is not quite right, and for one reason or another choice has been limited, it will be interesting to see who makes way when everyone is available, that is if we ever find ourselves in that enviable position. <ok>

    Hefty,
Against Carlisle he (Honeymoon) looked much better. Maybe losing his place gee’d him up.

    Disco.
8 is a very good score. I think our best players ever such as Phillips, Quinn, Arca and similar would get a 9 and I can’t think of any getting a 10. Anybody out there think we’ve had a 10 player. Montgomery, Clough, Hurley, Ashurst, Fogarty, Defoe, Ball, who else?
My favourite was Malbranque. He would disappear in a crowd of opposition players and come out with the ball but wasn’t great at scoring.

Add Summerbee, Watson, Turner, to that list, but remove Sess who was far too inconsistent IMO.

I'd give Maja an 8 too because he's not yet contributing enough to the team apart from goals. He's getting there though and quickly, his hold up play has gone from non existent to not bad at all.

It's like if you had a keeper who was a great shot stopper, their primary role, but couldn't kick or throw for **** then they'd get an 8 too.

Gyan , and Baxter possibly, Ashurst and Fogarty nowhere near for me, I'm sure someone will disagree though as its all subjective.

Charlie Hurley's middle name was 10!

So you can stop trying to score him right now!!

My worry is we could change, Maja, too much which could intrude on his goal scoring and we don't want that. I'd take him being the league top goalscorer and doing very little on the pitch, tbh!

Maybe Carlisle was more his level? He's looked average, at best, in league one.

Monty in goal, half back line of Anderson, Hurley, McNab with Cough leading the line, not bad for a second division side.

If he keeps scoring he keeps playing. Anything else is a bonus for me.
