Had a stinking head cold since Saturday, started with one of the worst sore throats I've ever had and moved swiftly to feeling like my head had been filled with a couple of bags of industrial concrete. Spewing it all out today ... litres of phlegm reflecting all shades of the phlegm spectrum
Been in same predicament since Friday. Into chest and ears now... dizziness...crap etc etc.. ****ing stupid virus bastards.
Yep, got all of that ... lost my sense of taste last night as well, but it's back now Virus everywhere !! Seems to be really bad right now. This one came on really suddenly as well. Did 90 minutes in the gym the evening before and felt great and then 2am Saturday morning I wake up feeling like I'd ingested acid coated razorblades

Guys there are some throat lozenges that have an antiseptic and what they claim is a pain killer in them too for the throat. I found them rather good. Has anyone heard of these types? Tyrozets Throat Lozenges They are in Boots
Normally use strepsils but tried own brand ones this time and they didn't have the same effect, haven't tried tyrozets. A lot of cold and flu pills and remedies are all the same stuff though, from the same factories but just packaged for the different brands. If you look at the codes on the packaging and they're the same then it's the exact same drugs just packaged and priced differently
yeah i have to agree, none are actually of any real use if you've an infection. The ones i mentions do numb the sore throat for a while.
Hurricane #2 coming through where I am... Although just like the last one this will only be a tropical storm by the time it reaches is most likely. Just like last time , work is not only saying we can't take time off for it... But if we already had time scheduled to be off (I do, I had scheduled to take the day off) we're no longer allowed to take the day off. It's stupid. The city closes down. Kids are out of school... Even daycare is closed but we're all supposed to show up even if we had vacation scheduled. I'm sure it will be nothing by the time it reaches us. I think 40mph winds predicted max... But still... Whereas every other employer in the city is wanting their employeew to be safe (and not sue them if anything happens commuting to work) mine is trying to just be an arse for the sake of being an arse cancelling people's scheduled time off. I'm a web developer there is no emergency need to have me at work during a storm... Now I was considering not taking the day off anyway because with kids being home I couldn't do what I had planned to take the day off for.. but I do think it's ridiculous and insane they cancelled my day off.
