Another good result and a chance to introduce another gem in Jack Diamond, sorry Jack but you will get used to it. Apart from Ethan Robson, ( and I hope its not as bad as it looks), no further injuries to players like Baldwin, Honeyman and the two Macs. The international break will now gives us a bit of time to recover for the next test two away games starting with Shrewsbury. Bring it on.
After the break Watmore must be getting closeish to getting some game time, under 23s I guess it'd be. He's been in full training for a week and a half I believe.
Be great to have him back, but he needs this season to complete his recovery, easing his way into the first team picture, in the meantime the club must concentrate on winning promotion without him. I would be happy with a fully fit Watmore getting a full pre-season next year preparing for the Championship, that would be my dream scenario.
As it's looking right now we're coping without having to rush young Duncan back so softly softly for him imo and wrap him in cotton wool until the new year at least. Why risk him when were not desperate?
I'm sure we'll only play him if he's 100% ready but it looks like that'll be this season, rushing him back is unnecessary but there's also no point in holding him back just to be safe if he's ready.
Highly rated then, I think we have some cracking youth players coming through and being in league one gives us great chance to intigrate them all, and quickly asses who is good enough and who isn’t.
Great news, as I think Robson is just the sort of player we need in the team, I am only sorry that his namesakes Josh and Tom are not still at the club for like him I am sure that with the right management they could have played a part in our re-resurgence, (Josh lost his chance with the arrival of Donald Love I say no more) what happened to Tom Ive no idea, but I am of the opinion that given a chance, they too cold have made it here . Our academy is now seen by most as our future, and it has never looked brighter.
What I like about our academy players is that they all seem to be attack minded, and comfortable on the ball, and this fits in well with what I read about Ross's style up in Scotland, my only regret is that there was no place for Robbie Stockdale in the new set up, as in the last game of last season against Wolves, Robbie bravely gave us a glimpse of where our future lay.
