The OP makes a good point, after all rooney had such a good world cup that he must be better than messi, 0 goals, insulting your own fans, and getting gubbed by the Germans, only and English fan could ever make such a claim, no wonder the rest of world think your a laughing stock

They are significant inventions/discoveries. However, look at where they where discovered, the previous work that had been done on either them (the inventions/discoveries) or precursors to them and also at those who assisted in working on them. They are not particular to Scotland.

Oh, and Haggis is English as well.

This Norwich lad has got the writing skills of a 8 year old who has just found out that Man Utd have won the Premier League.

Though he has a point about Messi compared to Rooney. Messi is amazing for his club, but for his country, he is a let-down as he should be a lot better with the skill we know he possess.

Rooney plays very well for his club (scores enough goals, but obviously doesn't have that domination that you see with Messi sometimes), and plays quite good for his country (I thought Rooney was one of the best players for England in WC2010).

So it is up to the individual what you regard as better. For me, I would pick Rooney over Messi, as he can provide goals and assists (usually) in a variety of situations for club and country. However, while Messi is outstanding for Barcalona, he does not perform to expectation when it comes to the international level, which (really) has the most pressure due to much more people watching the games.

Let's be honest though, we'll qualify for the European Championships, the media will hype us up and say we will do really well, we will then get through the group stages, meet a decent team and lose.

    Again.

In other news, 2 days after Bolton successfully kept Gary Cahill in the Bolton team after increasing interest from the likes of Spurs, he scores the first goal for his country against a team where the majority of the player's last names end in a 'v'.

    Get in <ok>
