It is funny how people see the pen VVD gave away not the 100 times he was in the right position to snuff out the danger. He is a leader and Hendo needs to handover that captains arm band. On the Salah case, I am more worried about Mane than the other two. Poor first touch, wants to come in rather than stretch the opposition. If you look closely, he is not releasing the ball early as enough times Salah has made the run but he decides against passing and hogs. What made us lethal last season was the quick release in transition. Now by taking that extra touch, we are allowing the other teams to set up and defend better. I am actually happy the break has come without much damage to the league form. Klopp needs some time to think of how to get these lot firing.
mane is mane. I have long since stopped wondering why he does half the things he does. he is either on it or not. he either scores or he doesn't. Its just maddening if you let it be. He can get 3 chances and miss two easy ones and score a great third.
I agree and I also quite enjoyed the game. We held last season's runaway winners to a goalless draw. That's a decent result

Lovrens had brushed someones face as he turned and the flopped. It does ignore the fact that fernandinho got away with what would be a charge and leading forearm into face on manes (at least a yellow IN RUGBY) so ok no issue with fernandinho doing that but its a pen for lovren.... ridiculous.

The chastening thing about Astro’s current chart is that it tells us that while our points total in week 8 is much better than at this point last season, on a fixture against fixture comparison we are only 2 points better. Those of us with a nervous or pessimistic disposition should stop reading this now. We shouldn’t look at City’s. They are exactly the opposite. On a direct fixture comparison they’ve apparently improved every parameter: goals scored and conceded, goals difference, points, possession, passing accuracy... I’d better stop here.
yeah but.... things are different enough here and there to change things. for example we played palace when they were diabolical last season. they then got Hodson so that is straight away a completely different fixture...
