Morning all. Overcast but dry after a drop of rain yesterday. I must investigate my pile of brambles to see if I dare burn it yet. Legally I could have had one since the beginning of September, but everywhere was so dry it would have been madness to have lit it.
Mornin' all. Much fresher here but still blue skies. I do have a request for some help for any couples (or threesomes) who have a half hour or so to spare. It is I think in a good cause. I'll post it here later.
Great news Dave. Just what was needed on a Monday morning that's gone a bit cold. I nearly said "just what the doctor ordered" but in this case that is probably literally true
A plea for help. I'm putting together a free 6-week English course for waiters and barmen (ladies included) who are unemployed for most of the year. With a bit of English on their CVs they have a better chance of grabbing something with the hotels or upper-class restaurants, even if that means moving away from here. The course is 6 one-hour sessions (in a bar please log in to view this image ) and a lot of online materials released week by week. And I need some volunteers to record simple short mp3 or m4a files. Needs to be 2 (and just a few 3) voices for the waiter and 1 (or 2 customers.) Only takes 5 or 6 mins to do one at normal speed, and one a bit slower. And email them to me. Non-Oxford English accents very welcome. They do not need to be done quickly. As and when. If anyone has the time and can help, please send a message and I'll send you some details and my email. Should say this is all voluntary and no one makes a buck.

Morning all. Dry and the temperature is expected to reach 26°C this afternoon. Perfect conditions to be out in the fields catching up with, and preparing for some veggie growing. There are some old maps in Poitiers showing how land was given to everyone to ensure they could support their families. My cottage was there, but the amount of land that goes with it has increased a lot. The next field to mine is one of the original sized plots, but since dear old George died it has reverted to nature, and the new owners have no interest in it.
Mornin' all. Just off to the village to get a bank statement for my residency (hope an ATM statement will do) and buy salad stuff). Also haven't made Chelsea buns in years. My step-daughter bought one yesterday and just by looking I said, "that is nothing compared with mine". Are there times when you wish you had held your tongue?
Well sped past your neck of the woods late afternoon... You are right 25+degrees. [emoji41] House invaded by [emoji221] ladybirds... So difficult to clear them out as we were always taught they were good luck.. So not to harm them... Ummm may be Mme Yorkie will deal with them! Bon nuit... Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
Morning all. Overcast with the likelihood of rain showers this afternoon. My shutters to the front of the cottage are looking a bit down at heel since I gave the front door a nice fresh coat of paint. They are solid oak, that were made about thirty years ago, so worth preserving. Think I must get the scraper and sander out.
Any cures both preventative me otherwise for [emoji221] invasion gladly received Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
