Well, its major shareholders, the UK pension funds which trade Unilever’s shares in London, have insisted that the company maintains its dual HQs in the UK and the Netherlands. The Board of the company, the people who actually run it, wanted to shift to the Netherlands alone.
It’s many western governments, not just news agencies.
Sky might be your primary source of news but it’s not mine, and less than a third of UK household have it. The India/Russia missile deal is in the Times and on the BBC website.

Here’s a possibility. The Russian intelligence agencies are very active, very nasty and directed by the Kremlin. But they are a bit ****. Laughing at them, even though they are really not funny, it’s the best possible response to the daily assaults they are making on western nations, largely through hacking and social media manipulation, but including the odd assassination. I’m pretty confident that if we wanted to respond in kind we could turn off Russia completely very quickly.

The Russians do appear to be very inept, which they certainly weren't in days gone by.
I just can't quite make my mind up about them. It could just be that they want to be discovered. It's the old way which Putin was a big part of.
What is clear to me is that, although we never hear all the details, these latest revelations aren't fake news.

Looks like Kavanaugh will get through. Instinctively I don't like him and thought he behaved badly at the recent hearing. If there's bad stuff out there about him, you can be sure the press will uncover it. If there isn't, then it will blow over. But I wouldn't want to come up before him in his court.

And it wasn't Porton Down making up evidence like the Putin sympathizers have said before? The fact is the Russians have been doing lots of stuff in many countries and are as guilty as hell. The World needs to clamp down on them. It doesn't need to involve military, just freeze the money and watch Putin get in line.

I feel the same Goldie. When I watched him in court I sort of believed the girl. However why did it take so long to come forward?
I also agree with the reporter who says if you don't like Trump then he is guilty and if you do she is a liar.
    However...
With all the stuff that has happened, surely he shouldn't get the job or would want it?

I don’t think they worry at all about being seen to be very active in various forms of espionage, it boosts their ridiculous egos. But I think ex KGB Colonel Putin will be furious that the attempted assassination of Skirpal and the total cock up in the Netherlands make them look stupid, and that heads will roll as a result.

After his frankly alarming performance during the hearings it’s almost irrelevant whether the story is true or not. Surely not a man that even conservatives want on the Supreme Court for decades? There must be other right wing options who are also decent judges.

The FBI enquiry was a farce, they didn't interview Kavanaugh or his accuser. I don't believe the woman just made this stuff up, there has to be something in it. The thing is, the hearing wasn't a court of law, so proof wasn't required, but Kavanaugh's pathetic performance in front of the senate committee (and the fact that he lied about his drinking), should be enough to prevent him getting the job.

Field: People of Birkenhead will choose their MP, not Momentum
Veteran Labour MP Frank Field has reiterated his intention to stand at the next General Election, insisting that “the people of Birkenhead will decide who they want – not 35 members of Momentum”.
The principled Brexiteer ditched the Labour whip, citing concerns over anti-Semitism in the party under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.
But he has no intention of being bullied out of politics by local Corbynistas, telling The House magazine: “The body that’s sovereign at elections are the electorate.
“And I couldn’t be more happy that they are going to decide who’s going to be the member for Birkenhead.”
Field insists that he would still like to be a Labour MP in the future if the party can sort its problems, but will be standing again regardless.
“You know, I might have resigned the whip. I’d like to regain the whip if they deal with this terrible intolerance. But otherwise, providence willing, I’m standing at the next election. And the people of Birkenhead will decide who they want – not 35 members of Momentum.”
A man of honour and integrity. Labour would be in a much stronger position if they had another hundred Frank Fields. Instead, he’s left.

    Agreed.
The Netherlands cock up was beyond inept though.
It was like something straight out of a Johny English film. It's hard to believe that they were so crap at their job.

mmmm I see the SNP are doing their usual snide things.
The Cranky woman will reject May's deal with the EU whatever. They want another referendum to keep the UK in the EU only to have a referendum on Scottish independence so they can leave our union to join the EU?
What a bunch of trouble making muppets.
    Playing a dangerous game.

  17. Labour too. It's a very dangerous game because if (and I know it's a massive if) a no deal is hugely damaging they'll be standing for election again having knowingly plunged the country into it just to make a point. And this will no longer be leavers vs remainers because people from both sides will support some form of a deal. This is getting utterly toxic.

I can understand their frustration. A significant factor in their losing the independence referendum was the fact it ensured continued membership of the EU. I think a Scots Leave vote would win now quite comfortably. Funny old world.

Also they could call it Irn Bruxit.
