Finishing off with a trip to Minerva how unlike you, though with all those " Stoptober " folk it's up to you to keep the Licensed Vitulars and support staff financed at this time of impending alcohol self prohibition ...

Went with Askew and others to a Ming City Rockers gig at Springhead last night in Anlaby Used to be a great venue so it’s good to see them getting gigs back on (this was the third one) but shame there weren’t more there. Good night though, although the beer choices aren’t good.
Haven't been for years - 20 or so, house band playing ****ing Toto and Get What You Give (for da kids).
Yeah it got **** when it was nothing but cover bands Back in the day it was very good though Saw Dr Feelgood there, and Pauline Black another night with a 2 tone collective band made of Specials, Selector etc That was superb
Zombies were there a couple of times - great nights. I think it all went to pot when the landlord moved to the Broad Highway.
Whoah, whoah, whoah....stop right there. In fact 'hold the line' (b'dum tish). What's not to like about 'Africa' and 'Rosanna'????
I was in Coventry today. If they are to come even close to filling our shoes they’ve a lot of work to do.
You're not kidding. A year or so ago sat nav misdirected me, ended up having to through Coventry. What a dump. Never encountered so many roundabouts and traffic lights, they seem to be every few yards.
Didn't realise it was still open Dennis, last I heard they were building a Co-op on the car park or garden at the side, or maybe both. Last band I saw in there was a while back, Soul Patrol, good band, I used to work with the saxophonist guy. Had a Sunday lunch in there once, we were the only ones in the restaurant, shame really, a decent meal.
Yeah the locals kicked off about the shop plans so they decided to build some houses there instead. Not affected the pub (although personally I wouldn’t buy the house with a garden backing onto the pub smoking shelter!) I’ve seen Soul Patrol a few times, very good (nearly booked them for daughter’s wedding actually) It’s a great location, with plenty of housing close by, but it’s fairly basic and could do with freshening up on the outside particularly to make it look more appealing. Beer options are poor too I’ve not eaten there for years but it did used to be good I’ll support gigs there though, in the hope that more come along and they decide to invest on the back of that Plenty of City flags in the bar by the way
Turner Prize question, a great success at Hull Ferens last year, maintained an interest so checked out this year's shortlist, back at Tate Britain, are all 4 films??
Top night with Fer Ark and the chaps and assorted Mrsis at the new venue/arena/brucie bonus Three Elvis tribute acts (one of them the best in the world...FACT) Great gig I thought the venue was really good. Easy to get in, well managed stewarding etc, nice feel to the area...and a short stroll to a Wetherspoons Top banana
