Match Day Thread Tottenham Hotspur v Cardiff City

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by PleaseNotPoll, Oct 4, 2018.

  1. Poch's response to questions about the sending off and Warnock's rant were very measured - friendly even. However, I reckon Colin ****er has overstepped the mark by a distance with his ridiculous comments.

Hides behind the 'Poor me, Little Me, Little Club' syndrome - that's fine - but the almost personal attack on Kane, after the heat of battle has cooled, is unprofessional and totally unacceptable.

    Objectionable git!

I am sorry but I haven't seen anyone here say that they were happy with the performance, only with the result and that included the manager who was clearly frustrated that we didn't turn our actual dominance of the match into the comfortable win it could have been.

I don't recall all of the Bill Nic era, but I think it is safe to say that we didn't play brilliantly every week, and whilst he like Poch would be unhappy with some of our performances, he would I think be pleased to be winning games at a time when we aren't in good form and have some very good players injured.

Hopefully we’ll get kick started and produce some of these comfortable wins. We’ll take 1-0’s all day long, and can build on that going forward. But we also need to be wary of goal difference and make sure we’re keeping up with our rivals. Going forward, we need to be scoring more than 1 against sides that were as poor as Cardiff were yesterday.

Just a ridiculously bad foul, isn't it? A shirt grab or an ankle tap and he'd have stayed on.

seriously can not believe even some as twatty as Warnock could complain about the sending off.
The bloke doesn't look at the ball just the player and he is lucky he did not seriously injured him.
The stuff said about Kane is a joke...Warnock often talks about the good old days when men were men yet whines like a moronic bully when opposition players confront his clogger fc team.

Was impressed with Cardiff this season...think they deserved more from games but after his bitchfest I hope they beat Derby's record low points tally.

Think everyone's pretty much summed it up already. Should have scored more and would have scored more if it weren't for the goal line block and Dean somehow thinking the Cardiff player got the ball when he took out Rose. Still we can't rely on penalties every week, we've had 2 so far and should have had 4 more(United, Liverpool, Moura before we scored last week and Rose today), 2 out of 6 is not a ratio we can rely on and even that's far better than we usually get.

Cardiff were better than I expected first half particularly so credit to them. Not sure how anyone can question the red card though, it was high and out of control. Player's don't have a right to take out other players off the ball. If you can't do it safely by tugging a shirt or tripping then you can't do it at all. The sad thing is that even I was surprised the red came out, luckily Dean's one of the few refs that doesn't really give a **** about playing it safe.

Generally we played pretty well, it was just a couple of nervy moments at the back and a lack of composure in front of goal. Now for an international break and a chance for more injuries :(

  8. That's an appalling foul and 100% violent conduct. Talks looks at Lucas as he's running past and just takes him out.
Not surprising that teammates got involved - he could have been seriously injured.

He was doing it with Eriksen in the side earlier in the campaign. No idea why.

4 of those against the bottom 4 teams.
Not so great then as with our present team , that should be expected.

We have been without Dele for 4 matches, Vertongens been injured, Eriksen has missed 2 or 3 games, Dembele has been out, Lloris has missed 4 and Lamela has missed games.

to have won 6 out of 8 premier league matches is a decent return in my opinion.

Yes, we've been a bit lucky at times but have been denied stone wall penalties and have had the injuries so the luck kind of evens itself out in that sense.

Now if I'd have said we should have scored more and we played badly you'd have all been miffed.
