It just demonstrates how easy it is to get it wrong when buying players from southern European leagues, and how easy it is to waste other people's cash. Maybe the owners are billionaires but they didn't get where they are by making such bad decisions. Hope they kicked Rudkin's backside until his teeth dropped out. Hopefully we have learned a very expensive lesson.
Finished very well with his feet on his debut for Fenerbache ... We never really set up to play to his strengths to be fair to the lad ... and his scoring record for Sporting was impressive ... It's a mark of how far we have come as a club that we can attract players like Slimani, Musa and indeed Ulloa ... not so long back the scope of our forwards purchasing power was the likes of Nugent, Fryatt, Hume and Gallagher ... and let's face it, no way would any of those have been sold on to clubs of Fenerbache or CSKA Moscow standing ... As to the money involved? ... as fans of a Premier League club with billionaire owners we just need to be grateful that we are the 'hobby' of passionate and seemingly committed ownership ... Our owners are also aiming to become a force in Horse Racing and have spent a small fortune (small change for them) on a sizeable string of expensive thoroughbreds that race in the King Power Blue and White colours and with many a 'Fox' in the name ... Great times to be a Leicester fan ...
They did a job at the level we were at .... but none of them would get in any of today's EPL teams ... be honest...
Liverpool and England full-back Nathaniel Clyne, 27, is a January target for Leicester. (Sunday Mirror) It looks like Pereira isn’t seen as a RB under Puel, so probably a good move for all?
Ricardo is only 25. Defensively he isnt good enough but going forward I like him alot. I think as a wing back he would be class Give him a year and he might improve defensively but Clyne would be a good signing
Would be a very good signing if Puel isn’t going to move from a back 4 to 3. If he did Ricardo would probably be a very capable RWB, in a 4, he is best on the wing and Clyne is a great player but has fallen out of favour for Alexander-Arnold. Would take him any day
I think thats what our team is set up for. Allows Maguire to run out with the ball. Soyuncu would have 2 people either side helping. Morgan wouldnt be shown up as much for pace and then Evans aswell Ricardo and Chilwell’s strengths is going forward. While Chilwell has improved defensively but he still has alot to learn. Its allows Maddison to play as a 10. And the flexibility comes with playing Iheanacho or a 3rd midfielder. I thought yesterday we was poor with the ball and gave it away alot and we cried out for Iborra
Agreed, and with the front 3 you have flexibility to play Maddison behind Nacho and Vardy or even Maddison and Gray behind just Vardy/Iheanacho. It seems obvious
I thought Puel summer business pointed towards it. Soyuncu is quite pacy for a defender so will basically play as a sweeper as Morgan is slow and Maguire isnt the fastest. We never replaced Mahrez we a simaliar or decent quality wide man but we did buy a quality number 10. I like Ricardo alot and Puel knows alot about him as he previously managed him at Nice. So i think right back has been a major **** up. Either Ricardo was brought as a right back who isnt good enough or we didnt buy a right back at all and just promoted Amartey We need a solid right back who is good going forward. Simpson cant go forward, Ricardo cant defend and Amartey is average at both. None of that is good enough. We have been linked with Clyne who appears to have no future at Liverpool at Alexander-Arnold and Gomez are ahead of him at right back there. I think he would be a good signing if he is over his injury problems. It needs sorting properly if we want to play 4 at the back Ricardo as a wing back will learn and be good enough as defensivley he will get more help from the defenders and the holding midfielders
Dont understand why Ward wasnt given a chance there tbh. Even im better then Karius Karius is **** Mignolet is a decent keeper with a mistake in him From what ive seen of Ward he deserved a chance there
Might as well get this show on the road with a single digit number of weeks before the Jan transfer window opens - can a mod please rename the thread? Firstly we look like we are going to lose our Head of Recruitment Eduardo Macia to is set to become DoF at Bordeaux - will be interesting to see how that will affect out transfer window. Anyway onto the rumours and we are linked with a lot of wingers and as per the past 4 odd windows we are linked with Thorgan Hazard - we can also add 24yo Japanese winger Shoya Nakajima from Portimonense in Portugal and 20yo winger Jamacian Alex Marshall from Cavalier in Jamaica to the list as well. We are linked with a couple of CMs, namely Villa's Jack Grealish and João Mario from Milan and also a CB - 22yo Scottish CB David Bates from Hamburg.
Diabate wont. He was originally brought for the developement squad Silva just cant cope physically in this league and he looks scared to try things James’ body isnt upto it
Im quite surprised really that he isn't pushing the likes of Albrighton, Gray and Ghezzel for a spot. Came in hot.
