Sion have been banned from the Europa League with Celtic taking their place subject to appeal. It means they will play some tough games prior to their weekend league games and in particular before they play us.
your rivals get 4/5 million windfall and you think it is good news !!!! it will give our players a lift
You keep bringing up the money because you know it's the only pro of Celtic being back in Europe 6 extra games, 6 possible pumpings, a trip to Madrid 3 days before an Old Firm game, an extra distraction in a season which is make or break for your manager but it's ok Celtic get 4/5 million so all is good
Said before that although Celtic may get £4m I believe it works in our advantage. 6 difficult games and the possibility of boosting the coefficient.
Its good to see justice was served but Its embarrasing that the only way we could get a scottish team through was through the backdoor. This pish about extra games is pish. 6 games is **** all. As for the extra few millions its equally as pish. ****e arguments all round!!!
It'll give your players more chances to get injured and you'll lose games because you don't do well with neutral referees, how's that going to motivate players. We'll win the league and get our extra money that way
I kind of agree medro. 6 games over a few months can take its toll. I would have been more confident if we hadn't have lost to St Mirren as I'd like to think if need be we can play some of the squad players against the likes of them & play first team in Europe......or vice versa if we get hammered the first 2 games in europe Agree that justice was served, I said earlier I'd have been happier if we'd lost in extra time or to a single goal rather than a convincing win, though Sion were **** & we should have won the first leg for sure. Problem with the 6 games is that they are obviously not spread throught the year but over a few months, which is where it can take its toll. Hopefully our key players have had their injuries for the season & will be fine from now on & drawing teams in Spain, Italy & France is better than travelling to back end of nowhere travelwise for the sunday game.
The money is an estimate though based on expected/average tv revenue. I'm sure one of the channels would be interested in Celtic A.Madrid but if its the same day as an English team playing a big team we may not feature.
We don't do well with neutral refs !!!!! least when a mistake is made , we know it isn't corrupt to stop your club going bust . Can I remind you've one won game in 30 European games without your Scottish refs
I'm booking my flights as soon as Sion's appeal process is over. An away day in Europe is a 'pro' - it's the only valid excuse I ever get to go on a Euro bender without the missus and kids. Hail Hail.
