Someone needs to sit the old bastard down and have a nice chat with him.

"Get a ****in' hair cut for a start. And what about those clothes, for Christ's sake?" :)

Not too bothered by the 'duds'! Just get back to making some decent 'rock' music with Jeff Beck.

Tim Blake Nelson and The Soggy Bottom Boys doing a nice version of "In The Jailhouse Now," a song made famous in 1928 by Jimmie Rodgers.

I can only iterate what others are saying. "Janowitz is known for having the most beautiful voice of all time, and using it to express the voluptuous purity of German music."

"Gundula Janwitz's voice is that of heaven's angels."

Absolutely magnificent. The huge symphony orchestra did this wonderful music full justice too, along with the choir and of course, Susanna Rigacci. Many thanks for clip.

When we think of ships lost more than 70 years ago, we do it with a lot of detachment, which of course is understandable, as we didn't have to live through those terrible times. The clip is only a movie, but the desperation depicted in the film is palpable.

I'm the original one note singer .... I'm as flat as a tack. So when I see someone singing like this little girl, I'm constantly amazed. She's a living wonder. :)

Oh my oh my, wow! Fantastic performance by Grandpa! So delicious looking, words fail me. Believe it or not, this looks exactly like what we eat regularly at our Indian here, i.e. Chicken Masala with Nan. However, 'looks like' is surely where it ends, as, although our Indian tries very hard, in no way can it be as good as Grandpa's. Did notice "no rice", which was hardly necessary, I guess. The rice where we go to is incredible, so light you'd think it will fly away. We are great friends of the owner and staff, but when my wife asked them once what the rice was, they just smiled and said "its a secret". Quite right too.

In closing, with all that butter, cream, and other healthy goodies, I bet our fancy Western health nutritionists must have fainted clean away watching Grandpa and pals do their, for me, wonderful cooking! <laugh>

……………….and Grandpa looks pretty damn fit and healthy on it too!

Whilst we’re on the subject of food, I am currently sat in the new (approx 1 year old) Qantas Lounge on Heathrow Terminal 3. just finished breakfast washed down with a wonderful cappuccino made by the Barista, who also kindly informed me that the Gin Bar will be open in 10 minutes. Oh dear <laugh>. Still need to get to the Cathay Pacific lounge before my flight, need to check out their noodle bar with freshly cooked dishes.
