Does that count if I'm not married. Luckily I haven't got a divorce to go through...

We don't plan to drag this though the courts. I respect her, she respects me.

Other than splitting up we'll remain friends (of sort).

Good choice, it never ends well when the briefs get involved.

Shared custody, no maintenance, let her keep the house for an agreed period for your lads benefit, everyone wins.

Can you clarify as this is all new to me... and Cleary not for you <whistle>

I was with her 15 years but never got married. Due to not getting a divorce do or will the courts ever be needed?

Yeah I'm not paying maintenance, I'll just share the cost of what he needs etc.

She earns 40k - and trust me for this area that is good money. I'm now on about 30k, which is also fairly good for this area.

Maintenance etc. Is bollox, we just need to share costs of school uniform, clothes etc. etc.

She can have the house mate, I'm not fussed. I've seen her will and the house is going to the kids.

I don't need the hassle of selling etc. Just to get extra money.

That’s sound, but often life takes a different route, so it’s best leaving it as you’re sound with her keeping it for now.

As she could end up meeting someone else flogging it and moving in with him, and the inheritance angle becomes moot.

That's if the person that moves in isn't murdered by a stranger in the night.

Tobes has pointed out that things are never that straightforward. Life is always throwing curve balls.

I mentioned the legal route primarily because of the issues around property. As Tobes said, she may have the house then meet someone and move in with them. The capital in the property is then diluted and another guy is involved in the mix. Any will written now can easily be superceded by another and any potential monies now guaranteed to your son could disappear at the stroke of a pen.

I'm no legal expert and most of us slag lawyers of one time or another but that doesn't invalidate the advice and service they provide.

Might be best if you can get your agreement about your property in contract form Sky. Speak to a solicitor mate. No need to tell your ex just yet, but get some legal advice now.

Sorry to hear your troubtes mate.

You probably don't want to hear this but being nice doesn't mean being "silly" in these situations. I get there are emotions etc but you need a clear head

Advice like this always comes across a bit raw and nasty but long term it's sensible from what I know. I know two guys right now who did everything amicably but now are literally crying as they lost everything as time went on.

Listen to @Burly Hurley and speak to a solicitor etc. No need to let people know and certainly not mutual friends (always surprises me how people you have known for years can suddenly start taking sides and become ****s)

Anyway mate sorry if that sounds horrible and all the best

Funny how suddenly priorities change your view on things....

Usually today id be nervous as hell as we're playing Man City, but I'm not even fussed about it.

That might change when i start watching it but im not fussed about winning or losing at the moment.

I think i need a good ****ing slap with an attitude like that.

Loved it. Everything Khabib said he’ll do to him in the cage he did.

Was even more sweeter that as a fight billed “striker vs grappler”, it was the grappler that scored a knockdown from a punch.

Conor’s fan boys are still crying on social media. It’s fantastic. Great night for MMA.

Well . IMHO you’re talking bollox ( first time for everything ) .

In your situation , it’s no bloody wonder you are not 100% focussed on football .
