Really, Mourinho and or Wenger never won the Champions League with English Clubs, and Fergie lost as many finals as he won.
Steady up? Why? Because you managed to claw back against a team that until today hadn't taken the lead against anyone. . Aye.... good luck with that.
Might as well be your class of 92 team for all the relevance that has. It had major problems last year too: 19 points in 2nd and now 4 of the teams below you that year are above you at a canter. You've literally conceded more goals than scored so far. What have you seen this season that makes you think this manager and squad can somehow only let in a further 15 goals the rest of the season (that would just have you matching last year mind!) I suppose scraping a win against what will be the 2nd worst team in the league come May Might miraculously turn you around and you'll go on a run of wins against Chelsea, Juve, City and Bournemouth over next few weeks.... I'll give you a win against Everton like.... because they love giving you a win. The rest? I can't see better than a draw against any of them.
What does that say about the rest of the league? What have you seen (after 8 games) this season to make you think anyone will get closer to City than last year. We will improve, not anywhere enough to catch City but enough to stay up with the best of the rest.
I've seen us, so far, match them on points while our front 3 haven't clicked as well as last year. I've seen a Chelsea team in pretty good nick for a new manager. I've seen a spurs team continuing on. Don't get me wrong, City are favourites without a doubt but you'll not be anywhere near 2nd this year. I haven't so far seen any sign of what you hope for. Not to say It won't happen and at least 2 of those 3 won't go on a bad run and you lot turn it around but Newcastle went through you like butter tonight...a team that has struggled to do that to anyone. You came back to win because, well they are ****e no offence to them. The better pl teams etc are not going to pass up the chances Newcastle had...and they certainly aren't going to throw away 2 nil leads as easily. Do you honestly think Mourinho watched that 2nd half and went " That's the 11 now!" Or will he swap it all around yet again, depending on who he's fell out with/blaming over the next 2 week's while they all go off to mouth to their home press?
I totally agree your boys will keep up with the rest, top is very tight at the moment. I think u could be out of title race already but by tomorrow so could we due to citys continuing consistency. The three places will be up for grabs till the last few weeks i reckon. Could be any of the top nine tbf. Heard two or three utd fans talk about this woodward thing and the club not having football people in the right positions, the more i read/hear about it the more true it sounds. Hope that **** gets sorted if thats the case. Want utd at top of their game, and us and city makes winning the league more precious (if we manage to again in my lifetime ) What i do find really odd is pj always using utd to fight his battles, like the trophy polishing comment. It fine for you to use that diego but surely an evertonian would want to use an example of their own, else its like me using barca or reals trophy haul over what utd have won. Just seems a bit stupid to do that?
Yesterday you seemed quite sober and realistic, one win later and all the old sabre-rattling comes out again. Right behind José again I suppose?
But a few months from now you'll be the same team that instantly crashed out of the title race and are struggling to hold on to a top half position
Dead man walking still managing the mancs. May be strange but honestly think that’s a great result for us , which we should cheer. Bet few of us did Mourinho is a crap manager FOR the mancs. He’ll never be right for them and the more he wins the better for us as they won’t sack him.
The trophy reference is always used by Liverpool fans to show how bad Everton have been doing. Using Jose and his double trophy failure is a good reference point. If better football without winning is now a reference then we are looking to head in the right direction. United appear to be passing us on the way down.
Just look at the Utd board here. Got quieter and quieter, that's down to the fans being bored and not wanting to discuss the crap. The other night against Napoli, we were awful and as a result less chat and activity In general. If we played like that every week it wouldn't be long before we turned into the Utd board. You pay to watch football in the ground or on tv to be entertained. Utd finished 2nd last season and have a good squad but the fans still grumble and that's down to the sh!t they watch every week.
Think it was more a direct response to you, personally...talking about United good...Liverpool bad every time it comes up and not a whisper about the team you supposedly support; rather than a standard defence against any comment by an Everton fan in general. Wee exercise: how many posts in your last 50 on the lfc board were about Everton and how many about United? Obviously as an Evertonian anti Liverpool posts are expected no matter what. Unless we mention Everton now and again people might mistake you for a United fan.... and there's so few of you on here to begin with
