Nah, the toon doing their utmost to keep steptoe in his job, an unnecessary freekick to which the wall didnt bother to jump so Mata could chip it over and a routine near post save that the keeper let in.
Shame Newcastle didn't have the quality to take advantage of the space manure left when they went at them. You have to worry for Newcastle.
Leave that in your inbox I think...... Sorry for the fans, but the club is a basket case and would be no loss. And just think of the advantages of never having to face that feckin' trek to the Tundra every year!!
https://streamja.com/7EN1 Goalkick! The point about having everyone back for set-pieces applies to us, too. We should leave Moura up at least, if not Son as well.
Those fans are absolutely fantastic, I've worked with a few toon season ticket holders, top top geezers, can't fault them.
I'm struggling to remember a game with 2 worse 'defences'. I put that in inverted commas as there was no sign of anything fitting that term. It resembled a game of basketball and could have ended up with the goals count in double figures, had the forwards not been so poor. Mourinho's next 2 hurdles are Chelsea away and Juve at OT. Barring a miraculous rise in collective performance, things are going to get worse before there's any prospect of them getting better. A battering in either or both is quite possible. As for Newcastle, barring some serious investment in January, they are in deep ****; deep, deep ****. They're 5 points below The Spammers and whilst they've played us, Arsenal and both Manchester teams, they've also failed to score against Cardiff, Palace and Leicester. That's really not great.
Fulham have conceded more goals than any other team in the PL. They've got decent attacking players, that may just keep them up but......Oh, that defence.
They had 21 attempts but only 4 on target and 1 goal...that's pretty piss poor imho. The goons had 9 attempts, 7 on target and 5 goals. Fulham are lucky that Cardiff, Huddersfield and Newcastle are in the league
Fulham have scored 9 PL goals. That's better than... West Ham..............8 Southampton.........6 Newcastle..............6 Palace...................5 Huddersfield..........4 Cardiff....................4 Brighton and Wolves have also scored 9 but have conceded 13 and 6 respectively, consequently, they are in 13th and 7th place. Fulham have conceded 21 and are 17th. Their problems are defensive.
I think we were able to take advantage of the fact they haven't completely gelled yet as a team and, perhaps more crucially, they made too many changes all too quickly. The sudden chopping and changing, with some brand new faces from other leagues, hasn't helped. Jokanovic is still trying to figure out his best team IMO. It's unreasonable to throw a bunch of new players together and expect them to hit the ground running. Especially in the most competitive league in Europe. There's been very little continuity. But we are only 8 games in. Still a long way to go. People may not see it yet, and of course I could be totally wrong, but I do feel once Fulham settle, they will be a good team. Their bad start doesn't change the fact that they acquired some decent players. Schurrle, Mitrovic, Seri, Vietto and Anguissa are all quality. Even Alfie Mawson was an understandable purchase. As has been mentioned above, attacking isn't where their problems lie. Defensively, they have been shambolic. They need to tighten up (which I think they will) and they'll be fine. They have enough firepower to stay up. It just means Jokanovic will need to be a bit more pragmatic about the way he sets his team up, instead of looking to always play expansive, free-flowing football.
Fulham played so well in the first half of this year in the Championship. Tinkered with the team too much and now look a mess. They should have focused on two or three quality signings including an experienced centre half rather than buying so many players and disrupting the team.
Fulham's fixture list hasn't been particularly kind to them or their style of football, in my opinion. Us, the Goons and City are games that most sides won't win, while trips to Everton and Brighton are also tough. Watford started the campaign well, so a draw with them is decent, which leaves their loss to Palace, which was a poor result. They're trying to play decent football and you can see patches where it works, but they're not there yet. They need to pick up some results soon though or it'll be hard to recover.
Mahrez is capable of occasional moments of sublime skill, but for the most part he's bang average. Like today..... Just don't see him as a player that was ever going to improve Citeh.
The game I want neither side to win is boring. Not worth 10% of the hype. Kyle Walker is a great athlete but his decision making when he has the ball is poor. If Lovren's playing and Liverpool have conceded 0, it doesn't say much for the quality of the opposition forwards.
