I would have just called them ****s and walked out, and bought my water elsewhere.
Why try arguing the toss? They said No.
Did he think the police were going to force Tesco to sell him the water? <doh>
Or what? "Sell this man water or we will arrest every member of staff in the building" lol

I would love to see how the Guardian covered this.

Racism and oppression in the Isles of Tescos

A young Asian couple and their elderly father were subjected to dehumanizing treatment in their local Rochdale Supermarket.
They were denied service reminiscent of South African apartheid and brutally beaten by racist white police officers.
The poor traumatized woman can be seen screaming and in fear for her life by these fascists.
Highlighting the abhorrent violence and misogyny towards women by Bradford police.

Tesco supermarkets claim to be inclusive but this incident proves that , non whites are not welcome in their stores .
A gofundme page has been set up for these victims of Racism to finance a lawsuit to claim £3m in damages as a result of their harrowing ordeal.

It wasn’t his Dad, the older fella was a security guard.

The bloke acted like a bell end, irrespective of what he was intending doing with the water. That said, was it worth the drama from Tesco’s perspective? Not sure it was, and they should have just taken his money and then clearly labelled the shelf with a maximum purchase amount afterwards.

Not sure the copper covered himself in glory either, he should have been capable of talking that one down and seeing the bloke out without it ending up in a ruck imo.

I thought the nice old boy was his father .

Probably not a great idea to yell at the copper to come over then start telling him how to do his job.

He had adequate warnings to leave peacefully and not film inside the store.
As soon as the officer put his hand on him to escort him out without arrest, the gobby **** doubled down shouted and told him not to touch his personal space.
This sort of tactic will never end well.

I like the meal for 2 deals in Tesco.

    Bottle of passable Spanish red

2 Ranch steaks with herb butter

    Douphenois potatoes

    2 Millionairs cheesecakes <whistle>

    £10 all in

Buy some asparagus tips and mushrooms to fry off with the steaks .
Chuck a fried egg in at the end

As an old work mate of mine very profoundly stated once, " they're only in it for the knock on the head".

Worked in Tesco when I was a student, and the 10 item policy was standard then. If in doubt you could always call the duty manager over to OK the sale, but the till would set off an error message when you scan too many.

If there are clearly stated limits to how many discounts per customer is allowed then that's fine, but your claim that only buying loss leaders is "abuse" is absolutely insane.

You are not legally or morally obliged to fall for any marketing tricks employed by Tesco or anyone else.

Too right, nobody is going to make me buy some hugely overpriced groceries just because they are offering me cut priced chocolate.

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything.
The limit set by the store was 10 each, they weren't happy with just 30 so claimed that it was racial discrimination.

Were they actually claiming that Tesco were racially discriminating them or the heavy handed treatment by the Police was racist?. I don't think that racism was even mentioned until he was being pinned to the floor by the Copper.
