Cannot argue with that but we have attracted more then one buyer so to an outsider we must look like a decent proposition. After some of the previous failed regimes we couldn't give the club away.
To be fair, even for someone with the marketing brain of Gerald Ratner (for those who remember) it will not be difficult to unify one and all
And no past owners said it was a gift. Or 24 hours. Or sell it for £1. Or £5 or even free to watch. Or, or, or. No other owners have been such lying, arrogant, despicable ****s. None.
Ironic that some on here who are now frothing at the mouth the most now are the ones who wouldn't hear a word against them when Pearson then Barmby were ousted.
Not necessarily ironic. Just that some dont have 20/20 future vision, a crystal ball, are (too?) trusting by nature. Inevitably some got there before others. Whats more important is that, finally, 95%+ now see them for what they are. Despicable ****s.
Looks very much like what my android phone does to my words sometimes. The keyboard has been bugged for months: it suggests a word to autocomplete to, but when you tap that word it prints some other gibberish instead.
The 'gift' was that they saved the club from administration. I don't recall anyone else in the queue at the time. 'Sell it for £1' I'm sure that was the SMC, no takers. the 'free to watch' not sure if that was the quote but the £5/10 a ticket was if the ground had an extension to 35,000 capacity. Never happened. I think there are at least two contenders for the 'lying and despicable' title and at least one for the 'arrogant' award. I remember Fish and Chris Needler both saying they would sell the club for £1 and when someone stepped forward the goal posts were quickly moved. The fact that we have nothing but memories to show for our three excursions into the Premier League is a far more serious then everything else that has gone on. The fact that our gates have halved and our playing squad decimated in less than 18 months is also appalling bad management. The fact that the club is still seen as buyable is massively reassuring. I just hope we get another chance to put right all the wrongs.
Debt free Most room for investment whilst staying within FFP then anyone else in the league Instant buzz around the club again when they go Crowds will grow over night Fan moral up over night Fan spending up over night Very cheap squad that can be bettered very easily and no dead wood bleeding us dry Very attractive and competitive academy Good youngsters coming through Clean slate for new owners Anything else?
Go on then....what isn't true about what I said? I see a fantastic opportunity for the next owners to be an instant hit and success, I'm sorry if that doesn't go with your glass almost empty view on life!
