I'm thinking of staff above the manger not the staff below the manager though. If you've chaos above you might look like Newcastle frankly. We all know rafa is a great manager but look at the state there. The club structures is what I am on about. Then my next point is does anyone think our structures are right?
Exactly. It's all about how destructive agent mourinho can be in the next week with breaching contract. He's trying his best to get players sold out of utd
what can you do about it though? it's the owners responsibility to hire their own staff no one else. you will always get someone prepared to take a job on however ****ed up the club may be. why? simple money!!
Now reports he won't be sacked... is this because it was leaked and embarrassing or was it someone playing games sourcing it to the mirror?
That is down to Mourinho to a significant degree, imo. His tactics are generally effective, which is why he's been so successful - but grinding out results when you have the best players is easy enough, it's different when you're up against a team with quality and flair. I suspect that the right manager would get a lot more out of the attacking players in that squad - though they might also lose more by being adventurous. Mourinho's Utd are in meltdown at the moment, if they were functioning as he wants they wouldn't lose many games, but they wouldn't win enough either. Anyway, interesting times ahead, and for once it's not us.
The club couldn't get much more embarrassing anyway. Only thing they need to do next is get the t-shirts printed...
what about 3 managers later argument? how many more managers might they go through until they sort it?
Probably a case of it was leaked which makes them look like ****s esp if they hadn't informed mourinho first. Or they want to wait until someone better is confirmed first than alleged caretaker esp with top 4 and cups to contend with.
I think they're currently predicament in similar to when we had H&G as owners. Their owners don't know what they're doing and they stumbled along when they first arrived because the club was ashtray successful. As soon as Fergus left, they were ****ed. Their solution was to throw money (not out their own pocket) at it and it's failed. They need a structure, a forward thinking manager and they need to be patient. Moyes was never the right man. LVG and Mourinho are both extremely defensive that only use experienced players, neither are long term options. They need a young enthusiastic manager that they're prepared to give three seasons to get it right. If they're going to go down the Chelsea model and throwing money at it and changing managers every couple of years, they need a quality DoF to structure the signings.
BBC Salford just described themselves. "Here at BBC Sport towers - within a good goal-kick of Old Trafford"
Well this is true, but the managers they have had haven't quite got what it takes either. After such a long period of stability brought about by Fergie's overriding presence there's obviously a feeling amongst a lot of people that they somehow have a god-given right to be there. We had a similar mind-set in the early 90's, and look how long it took us to "sort it", and we're still not quite there. There are different circumstances as well, I know, but that complacency and feeling of entitlement can be deadly. We were left behind by the changing face of football, perhaps Utd need to change now to keep up? I don't really know, which is why I said interesting times. The only thing I do know is that when Fergie left, I was certain that those who thought it would be business as usual whoever took over were in for a rude awakening.
Is it me or are the fixtures this weekend a bit devoid of anything exciting. Obv excluding our game - no guarantee it will be a good game like but still a reason to get excited but the rest just seem to have fallen in a clump. Maybe with what’s going on Utd v Newcastle might give something but I cant see anything other than a 3-0 to utd
no idea, i only ever watch one team. i know a lot of you do, but doesn't bother me who else is playing as i don't care lol.
No, I agree there is nothing else to generate much interest. Some weekends I will watch 1 or 2 other games but this time around?.....nah
