My take on it is stores do promotions to attract customers in and buy other products, they would rather 25 customers bought 2 bottles of strawberry Evian than 1 customer clear the shelves of 50 bottles for themselves. The gentleman insisted many times that this was not for retail but personal use and all the other branches allowed him to buy 50 bottles . Unless he really really likes strawberry water that would appear to be the most likely scenario. All they had to do was say "Ok we will just take the 10 thanks " but no they have to act the **** and get arrested .
Its up to Tesco what they sell and to whom. You are not entitled to their services, if they say no, then the answer is no. Self entitled pricks. When the cop had him on the floor. "UH LUH LUH FOOKING UH LUH" sounds likes a ******.
Agree with you both. Going around different Tesco stores buying 50 bottles at a time is clearly to sell on. Why didn't they just go direct to Evian and get them at wholesale prices? The pair of them deserved to be nicked and booted about the cells going on like that. ****ing pathetic low life ****s.
Interesting that the dad was reasonable and had respect for Tescos policy not to film on their property but his son was just a gobby ****er that didn't like being told no . He had a ****ty attitude with the copper and deserved everything he got . The same as his shrieking Mrs .
He reckoned it werent for selling on, yet he said he had gone to a Tesco store the previous day and they had let him buy 50 bottles. If you bought 50 bottles yesterday, then why in the **** are you trying to buy another 50 bottles today? if it is just for personal use? What a ****er!
Tesco doesn't get to decide what you do with a product after you bought it from them. They also don't get to decide how many you buy unless all their promotion adverts clearly stated the limit. The most Tesco could say is that the first 10 are at the promotional price and the others are regular price.
These are called loss leaders and they usually give a restriction to how many are sold so they are selling products at a loss to entice shoppers to come in. They were abusing this offer as they only bought the water and no other items . If in this instance the store manager restricted them to buying 10 each they could have walked away with 30 bottles at the knock down price and even returned with even more family members the next day . The two arrested both claimed that the police were hitting them and I believe the goon on the floor in cuffs even threatened the copper that he was dead . All because they enjoy drinking strawberry flavoured water.
Were they offering less than the cost price? If so they should be able to buy it You snotty bastards don't like the customers attitude therefore letting that blind you. The point is he should be able to buy it if he's willing to pay the asking price. Tescos **** up...not the customers.
Supermarkets have the right to limit the number of discounted items sold to each customer, in this case it was 10 each. 30 bottles of strawberry water plus the 50 they bought from Oldham wasn't enough? They don't own a shop and were looking to stock up and make a 300% mark up or anything .
Tbh...I didn't realise they had a 10 per customer policy...if thems the rules then the customer can't argue.
I boight a PS4 for my kids on black Friday from Amazon , this had a restriction of 1 per customer to stop 1 greedy ****ers buying them all up and reselling them.
Stop. Just because he is brown, and you are brown, doesnt mean he is right. A shop can refuse to sell anything, to anyone, at anytime, if they dont want to. No one has a right to anyone's services
Even if they didnt, they can change their mind, or make up a new rule on the spot. It would be unfair, but that still wouldnt give the guy the right to start swearing and attacking police.
Like I said, it wouldnt matter either way. Tesco are not a nationalised operation, no one has a right to buy anything from them if they refuse. It's certainly not a police matter.
