I would have thought Michael Oliver would have been nominated but he doesnt appear to be getting the big PL games this season. Has he been a naughty boy and said something the FA dont like?

I think Clatts has made his money in Saudi. Will just be down the Harbour front getting leathered now.

If that Ref was challenged by his bosses to explain that decision I would be interested to hear it. Unbelievable.

Needs to be sorted, scum like Evans are milking these incompetents, or even worse maybe. The governing bodies need to wake up or be replaced if that is at all possible.

I think the ref saw a foul outside the area, instantly after the throw is taken, off camera, played advantage, saw no advantage and called the game back. If you listen you hear the crowd call for something before the player goes down. Maybe a shirt pull off camera. i don't think he called the 'penalty'. I'm not sure it was even a penalty.

    Sprouts,
I think your making the 'off camera' bit up.
The ball is played to the attacker in blue inside the box, all the action is inside the box and it's the defender on the byline who swings a leg at him and commits the foul.
I'm all for giving officials who have a very difficult job a bit of leeway but this decision is ridiculous imo.

If he’s giving something for that it has to be a a penalty but for me that’s not even a foul! Wimbledon player manages to nick the ball pretty cleanly and Bradford players movement means he kicks the Wimbledon player as part of his natural momentum in trying to continue playing the ball. It’s a tough job being referee but got to say the standard at this level is shockingly poor.

I watch my lad play u14 footy every Saturday. Seen some shocking referees if all ages. But had one today who was excellent. Best “away” ref we’ve had in at least 2 seasons. So I went up to him at the end. He got very defensive till I said “no mate I want to shake your hand. Can imagine you don’t get much congratulations but you had a great game today”. He looked genuinely shocked

Can't be off camera mate, we can see where the free kick is given. Think you could be onto something though... Did no.10 handball it on the way through?

The ref must have given a free kick for something that happened outside the area, the very moment the throw in was taken, off camera. By the time we see the players involved they have backed into the penalty area after the ref played some sort of advantage. If you notice the ref blew the whistle almost instantly when the player went down. Perhaps too soon, showing that it was not blown for the final incident when the player went down, but for something that happened seconds before.
