The Magpies return to Premier League action on Saturday teatime, visiting Old Trafford for a 5.30pm televised start against Jose Mourinho's side.

NUFC: Florian Lejeune and Salomon Rondon remain out due to injury but Paul Dummett and Federico Fernandez have now returned to full training.

Quite when Rondon will recover from a thigh injury remains to be seen, Rafa Benitez giving little away before the Leicester game other than to say that a decision will follow after a "couple of weeks."

Unconfirmed reports however claim that the on-loan West Bromwich Albion striker could be missing for a far longer period of time.

Coral match betting is online hereA Newcastle victory is rated at 13/2, while the Magpies triumphing 1-0 comes in at 16/1.

Half time / Full time score odds:
    MUFC/MUFC 13/10
    MUFC/Draw 18/1
    MUFC/NUFC 80/1
    Draw/MUFC 29/10
    Draw/Draw 5/1
    Draw/NUFC 14/1
    NUFC/MUFC 25/1
    NUFC/Draw 20/1
    NUFC/NUFC 14/1

Playing around with Coral's build a bet facility, we came up with these:

Ritchie to score in an NUFC win, both teams not to score @ 64/1 DeAndre Yedlin to be carded in a draw @ 16/1MUFC: Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera all miss out but Ashley Young should be available.

While Newcastle had a free week in which to prepare, the Red Devils were held 0-0 at home by Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Domestically, three wins, one draw and three losses in their opening seven league games represents Manchester United's poorest start to any season since 1989/90.

On home territory this season they've not won in either the league or cup since a 2-1 opening day success over Leicester City - losing 0-3 to Spurs before being held 1-1 by Wolves.

In the League Cup meanwhile, a 2-2 draw with Championship side Derby County led to an exit on penalties.Referee:Anthony Taylor - last seen taking charge of our 2-1 home victory over Arsenal back in April.

Now listed as being Cheshire-based, Taylor was born in the Greater Manchester suburb of Wythenshawe and lives in Altrincham - six miles from Old Trafford.

Declaring himself an Alty fan, he's allowed to officiate at both Manchester United and City games - and was in the middle for our 1-2 League Cup defeat at Old Trafford during September 2012 and again when the Red Devils won 1-0 at SJP in March 2015.Travel: There's another strike affecting Northern Rail services on Saturday more details here

Our record isn't good there is it? And we have vastly inferior team to theirs. Can't see anything other than a comprehensive loss. 3-0 to ManU. Let's not flip out when we get beat though - we are expected to lose against these and then the season starts for us in earnest after this game.

    Great write up, thanks.

I can't see United getting anything on the road at Old Trafford. So 2-0 to the home team.

Just don’t know what to make of this one really. Neither side is doing well, both have issues, both desperately need a win, so who knows.
What we need just as much as some points, is a really good performance to boost confidence.
Looking at the other fixtures this weekend it seems that those clubs around us all have tough fixtures too and if results go by the form book, then grabbing a win would be huge.
Sadly performance or not it’s hard to see where the goals are going to come from.
I hope Rondon is not going to be another Slimani !

We're a worse side than last season and we will be relegated.

Jose keeps his job and we drift another place lower down the league.

I'm looking forward to Preston away next season.
