I read a quote from him about a week ago saying something along the lines that he would never win the fans over cos he used to manage Birmingham. Where have I heard him say something like that before?
They're just 2 points or so from a play-off place? Madness! The owners just panicking and playing to the fans! Cowards!
He's got 1 win in 9, we sacked him for 2 wins in 13. Maybe it's more his attitude when his back is against wall that gets him sack. Let's face it, he goes into panic mode the second fans get on his back. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
Its mad though Bri. Look at Fergie's first season and what he went on to achieve. I'm not defending the guy. Just think its sad how quickly some owners can panic.
That creates quite a challenge for the next one in. Whoever it is will need to be either very brave or very stupid. Villa are another Club that believes in the revolving door policy as far as managers are concerned, having had seven in the last eight years. Bruce was given the job on the basis of his excellent record in getting clubs promoted from The Championship. He failed, just, so he's out. And there's little point in his complaining about the Birmingham connection. He knew from the start that if he failed, in any way, a sizable number of Villa Fans would bring this up. Villa seemed to take a gamble, throwing all their resources into gaining promotion last season. I thought that I'd read somewhere that they may have run foul of the spending rules. In any case, the pot seems to be empty and the owner seems disinclined to pour more into it. They are of course a genuinely 'Big Club' with a very proud history. Perhaps this is all somewhat familiar to Sunderland Fans.
It will be a huge job for somebody coming in. Villa are one of the top 10 biggest clubs, in the country. Bruce should have done better with the players and money he had at his disposal.
I know mate. I'm just exploring whether it's more than results getting him sacked. He's a dummy spitter publicly, I can see him being a cheeky **** at times behind closed doors. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
Yeh I agree with you. This isn't actually a pop at Man U but I think there's an arrogance that comes with being a part of such a successful team and club that is prevalent in so many of his ex-team mates. Not saying its a bad thing or that its undeserved. But I definitely thinks its there.
